About the Role:
The Strategic Program Manager will lead & oversee complex projects and initiatives across multiple teams. Reporting directly to the CIO and serving as a member of the Technology Leadership Team, the Strategic Program Manager plays a critical role in driving companywide strategic initiatives. This role will be responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and program development to execution and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop comprehensive program plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation leveraging PMIS and PPM tools to support, track and report on program activities leveraging Program Management Information System (PMIS), Project Portfolio Management (PPM) Tools
Provide advanced technical project management skills, tools and techniques, such as Earned Value Management (EVM), risk management, change management, and scheduling software
Lead cross-functional teams through project lifecycle phases such as initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and perform detailed requirements analysis to ensure project deliverables meet business needs
Apply project management methodologies including Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, Scrum (SAFe), and Waterfall to optimize processes and improve project outcomes
Conduct root cause analysis and risk management to proactively identify issues and implement mitigation strategies
Oversee project portfolio management to prioritize initiatives based on strategic value and resource capacity
Utilize workflow and change management tools ensuring a consistent escalation process and tracking of alterations of workflow and configuration within the program
Facilitate meetings effectively with stakeholders at all levels to communicate progress, resolve conflicts, and negotiate scope changes
Monitor project performance using earned value management techniques to ensure projects stay within scope, schedule, and budget constraints
Drive organizational change management efforts to support program adoption across teams
Skills & Competencies:
Proven experience in supervising teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills
Expertise in Agile frameworks (SAFe), Waterfall methodologies, Kanban, Scrum, and other project management practices
Utilization of product management software such as Jira and Confluence
Strong analytical skills including data collection/analysis and root cause analysis for problem-solving
Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, Confluence, ServiceNow or equivalent PPM tools
Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly through technical writing and presentation skills
Knowledge of business process modeling techniques including Visio or similar diagramming tools
Ability to manage scope changes using negotiation skills while maintaining quality standards aligned with PMBOK or equivalent frameworks
Experience in risk management practices including risk assessment tools like SAS or similar data analysis platforms
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or other relevant fields
10+ years of Managing Programs
5+ years leading and delivering complex companywide initiatives
5+ years of Healthcare Revenue Cycle and/or healthcare industry experience
Strong expertise working with all levels of company leadership
Strong understanding of Agile methodology/concepts
Practiced in working with geographically dispersed teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with IT infrastructure projects or product development
