Job Summary & Responsibilities

AFC Industries is a dynamic organization dedicated to providing supply chain management solutions for fasteners and assembly components to original equipment manufacturers, assembly plants, and other users of these products.

We support a diverse industry base of manufacturers across a broad range of industries. Our experienced team has a proven track record of helping manufacturers and assemblers reduce cost, improve quality, and increase efficiency.

We are A Company Culture Devoted to Innovation & Improvement

AFC provides localized expertise to customers in particular industries and geographies. We don’t have a traditional hierarchical management structure where everyone simply “reports up.” Instead, our company is made up of on-the-ground experts operating in an entrepreneurial fashion with the backing and support of an enterprise-grade organization.

Sharing cultural values breeds consistency and quality throughout our organization. Collectively, we are committed to a simple management approach, which influences our company culture and our management style.

Position Summary

AFC Industries is seeking a Strategic Communications Manager to strengthen how we communicate across a rapidly growing and evolving organization.

This role will help AFC communicate more effectively with two of its most important audiences: our employees, and our customers through the teams who serve them.

The Strategic Communications Manager will lead AFC’s internal communications strategy while partnering closely with Sales and business leaders to strengthen sales enablement. The role will translate complex business information, organizational changes, technical capabilities and customer value into clear, compelling communications that help people understand AFC and take action.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role. The right person will be equally comfortable developing a communications plan, writing an executive announcement, working with Sales to identify a messaging need, building a customer presentation or developing content for the company intranet.

Key Responsibilities

Internal and change communications

  • Develop and manage AFC’s internal communications strategy, calendar, channels and overall communication rhythm.
  • Lead communications supporting organizational changes, acquisitions, integrations and major company initiatives, helping employees understand what is changing, why it matters and what they need to know.
  • Partner with HR, leadership and business units to coordinate messaging, timing and communication standards across AFC.
  • Continually evaluate communication effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve employee understanding and engagement.

Sales enablement and customer communications

  • Partner directly with Sales and business leaders to identify messaging, content and communication needs that support commercial priorities.
  • Develop sales enablement tools, including presentations, case studies, capability materials, success stories and messaging, that help teams communicate AFC’s value more effectively.
  • Translate technical capabilities and customer solutions into clear, compelling, customer-focused stories and proof points.
  • Establish repeatable processes for capturing Sales feedback and customer successes and turning them into useful commercial resources.

Leadership and corporate communications

  • Partner with executives and business leaders on announcements, presentations, talking points, FAQs and other leadership communications.
  • Translate company strategy, priorities and business performance into communications that employees can easily understand.
  • Help maintain a clear and consistent AFC voice across internal, corporate and customer-facing communications.

Intranet and content

  • Own the editorial direction, content strategy and publishing cadence for AFC’s company intranet.
  • Develop employee stories, business-unit updates, recognition, customer successes and other content that connects employees to the broader AFC organization.
  • Support broader Marketing content needs, including presentations, basic graphics, video, photography and special projects as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field preferred, with 5 or more years of relevant B2B communications or marketing experience.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex, technical or sensitive information.
  • Experience developing communications strategies and working closely with Sales, leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong business judgment, project management skills and the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-moving organization.
  • Experience with creative tools, intranet platforms, CRM or marketing technology, or industrial and manufacturing environments is a plus.
