Who we are:

Nirvana is on a mission to modernize commercial insurance and enable a safer world. Our technology platform delivers modern insurance and risk management to help our customers protect their businesses and to improve the safety of their operations.

To start, we’re transforming the legacy, $750B+ commercial insurance industry through cutting-edge predictive models using real-time IoT data (~50B connected devices by 2030), automation to deliver instantaneous quotes and faster underwriting along with proactive, data-driven insights to help customers prevent accidents.

Nirvana is backed by top-tier VCs including Lightspeed and General Catalyst and when it launched in Jan 2022 grew to >$10M premium run rate in under 6 months, more than 2x faster than best-in-class insurtechs. Our leadership team has helped scale multi-billion dollar companies from scratch including Samsara, Rubrik, Acko, and Flexport, and includes industry veterans from Hiscox, AIG, The Hartford and RLI.

About the role:

In this role, you will be a founding member of the Strategic Finance team. This is a high-impact role that will work closely with senior leadership and shape the financial strategy of Nirvana.

You’ll get substantial visibility, drive projects that influence the entire company, and be plugged into every facet of the business. You will dive deep in learning about a fast-growing business, design and implement company-wide initiatives to drive toward our desired business and financial outcomes. Examples include driving initiatives to improve key financial and operating metrics, identifying new business initiatives and assisting in future financings and investment rounds.

What you’ll do:

  • Implement advanced analytics and modeling as part of long-term planning, annual budgeting, investor reporting, and budget variance analyses

  • Partner with leaders across Product, Engineering, Operations, Go-to-Market, and People to provide actionable insights, influence decisions, and spearhead initiatives that improve business and financial performance

  • Drive business and financial outcomes by translating complex financial data into concise recommendations and action plans for operational and strategic improvements

  • Help diligence, negotiate, and implement transactions (e.g., M&A, vendor negotiations, capital raises)

About you:

  • 2-4 years of experience across management consulting, investment banking, private equity, Strategic Finance or Business Operations roles in high-growth companies

  • Proficiency in complex financial modeling and planning

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with multiple teams, building strong relationships, and driving alignment in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.

  • Demonstrated outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify and articulate complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholders, from executives to operators.

  • Hands-on operator: comfortable digging into the details with teams, implementing solutions, and iterating quickly - not just producing metrics or analysis.

  • Detail-oriented and execution-focused, with the resilience to thrive in a high-performance, fast-paced setting.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary & equity

  • Medical, dental & vision insurance

  • 401k with company match

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Remote Friendly

We set our salary ranges using compensation data from companies similar to our stage and size. For this role, the estimated salary range for this position is $115,000 - $135,000. The actual base salary will vary depending on multiple factors unique to each candidate, including location, job-related knowledge, transferable skills, work experience and our assessment of your level during the interview process.

Nirvana offers a wide range of best-in-class, comprehensive benefits for this role including 100% employer paid healthcare plans, a healthy 401k match program, paid time off, parental leave, wellness reimbursement, work-from-home stipend and more.

In addition, Nirvana offers equity for all full-time employees, which is not included in the range listed above and will have a significant impact on your overall compensation.

Nirvana is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. If you’re interested in this role, but do not meet 100% of the qualifications listed above, we encourage you to apply. We'd like to consider you for this position and roles that may be a fit in the future.
