Who We Are
We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative and consumer-obsessed Staff Engineer in Test to join our RDC Next team. The charter for this team is to build and deliver innovative solutions across the real-estate ecosystem that deepen relationships with industry players, consumers, and brokers/agents. We are in the starting phase of the first product that will change the experience of agents and consumers through the home buying journey.
What You’ll Do:
- Strategic Planning: Lead planning of quality initiatives specific to home buyer and agent experience, ensuring functionality, scalability, and continuous improvement of testing practices. Provide technical guidance across the team with testing strategy and product lines are working as expected. Define and implement test strategies, automation frameworks, and best practices for web, iOS, and Android applications.
- Technical Leadership: Provide hands-on technical leadership with testing web and mobile apps, guiding them in implementing best practices in different facets of testing . Ensure product meets quality standards.
- Test Automation: Design, develop, and maintain robust, reusable, and scalable test automation solutions using frameworks such as Appium, and Playwright. Partner with the automation engineers for the scope and requirements for automation.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with development, product, and operations teams, sometimes across business units, to ensure seamless integration of quality practices, tools, and processes. Partner with developers in writing functional and integration tests using tools and frameworks. Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and deployment.
- Training and Mentorship:. Mentor and coach SDETs and QA engineers on test automation, test strategy, and debugging techniques.
- Planning and Communication:. Manage changing and competing priorities with business partners and engineers to repriortize delivery , track, communicate and mitigate risks as appropriate , triage and analyze( RCA) issues to advocate for preventive and corrective measures.
- Technology Evaluation and Modernization: Evaluate and implement AI-driven testing tools and recommend and integrate emerging technologies into our quality tools and solutions keeping the organization at the forefront of industry standards.
- Agile Processes: Participate in Agile/Scrum product development processes, ensuring that quality is an integral part of the development lifecycle from start to finish. Enable teams with processes to support faster release cycles and business needs.
What You’ll Bring:
- 8+ years of experience in software testing and automation for web and mobile apps, with at least 3+ years in a staff SDET role.
- Experience architecting test strategies for complex product and deployment architectures, and executing feature test plans.
- Experience managing changing and competing priorities and coordinating large portfolio level testing efforts every sprint in collaboration with release managers, engineering managers, and engineers.
- Experience finding the underlying cause of a failure in an integrated environment.
- Experience with Java, Python for mobile test automation.
- Experience with mobile app automation frameworks e.g., Appium or React Native mobile testing.
- Experience with web automation frameworks e.g., Playwright.
- Experience with API testing using Postman, RestAssured, etc.
- Experience with performance testing tools like Firebase Performance Monitoring, Gatling, or JMeter.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, CircleCI).
- Experience working with cloud-based mobile testing platforms like Sauce Labs, BrowserStack, or AWS Device Farm.
- Strong understanding of mobile network conditions, UI/UX testing, and accessibility testing.
- Experience with agentic AI tooling pr AI/ML-driven testing solutions is a plus
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience
