Simplesense is a non-traditional defense contractor and prime on the Air Force's Installation Resilience Operations Command and Control (IROC) program, which is now expanding to five additional Air Force, Space Force, and Army installations from the one prototype installation, Tyndall Air Force Base.

Mission critical facilities depend on utilities, life safety, security, and building automation control systems to maintain readiness 24/7/365. Simplesense protects critical infrastructure from cyber attack and enables facility managers and operators access to the latest technology as well as previously inaccessible information to monitor, diagnose, and respond faster to events in real-time.

The Staff Technical Program Manager is responsible for program/project management processes across the company’s entire portfolio of contracts, using Agile techniques to deliver projects on time and on budget.  They manage a portfolio of projects as needed while mentoring and monitoring Technical Program Manager execution as they manage projects to completion. The Staff Technical Program Manager drives the contract proposal to the project plan process for the company.  They work closely with the Senior Product Manager to align product roadmaps with contract execution. They advise company senior leaders and coordinate across all departments for program process changes/updates and serve as the company’s project planning and execution subject matter expert.  The Staff Technical Program Manager reports to the Director of Programs and they are a core part of the Program Team that ensures solution delivery based on Simplesense technical capabilities.

Core Responsibilities
  • Works with Product Manager to align product roadmaps with contract execution 
  • Distills customer and internal product requirements into actionable plans
  • Turns proposals into projects that can be executed by DEVSECOPS engineer teams
  • Pragmatically balances Product Owners’ desires with contractual obligations
  • Tracks underway tasks and projects to completion, including subcontractor tasks
  • Mentors and advises TPMs on program and project execution best practices
  • Identifies prioritization and staffing constraints; resolves with senior leadership
  • Identifies and manages program/project risk across the Program Team portfolio
  • Continuously improves project management processes with company stakeholders
  • Represents Simplesense when required to customers, partners, and subcontractors
Requirements
  • 10+ years with demonstrated success in managing project delivery to customers
  • Deep experience managing multiple concurrent interrelated or independent projects
  • Exhibited translation between traditional waterfall and agile management models
  • Demonstrated use of project management tools for tracking (Jira, Asana, etc)
  • Extensive understanding of Agile methodologies such as Kanban and Scrum
  • Significant experience with small business and startup culture, Department of Defense project experience is a bonus
  • T-shaped person (experience in many things, depth in a handful). Depth in one or more of the following is important:
    • Project Management of
      • Networking development
      • Software development
      • Cybersecurity, outage monitoring, and incident response
      • Network Operations, NOC/SOC day-to-day support and operations
    • Continuous improvement activities to optimize processes and procedures
    • DevSecOps
    • Set up and configuration of project management tooling
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a DoD NIPR network account and Common Access Card (CAC). 
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a Secret Clearance. 

Pay Range: $150,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on your experience, skill, and location.
