The Opportunity:

  • This position is for a Staff Systems Engineer. You will be working closely with a talented team to deliver a complex software application into operations.
  • The position will primarily support the operations for a software system.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical direction and requirement transparency across development teams
  • Performing requirements management including requirements creation, tracking, flow down, coverage, verification tracking, compliance matrices, etc.
  • Developing test procedures to formally verify system requirements for sell off events
  • Decomposing system requirements and collaborating with multi-disciplined, distributed teams to generate efficient and scalable solutions
  • Supporting the development, implementation, and verification of mission capabilities
  • Participating in the development and execution of program milestones events such as Customer meetings, internal and formal Government testing events, and discrepancy report (DR) review boards
  • Conducting testing events of software solutions and generating Test result documentation
  • Supporting operations of software with tasks such as enterprise test events and user integration and onboarding

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, systems engineering, IT, or related engineering field
  • At least 7 years of professional experience working in software development or systems engineering
  • Effective cross-organizational communicator with the ability to work well in a small team, fast paced environment
  • Ability to develop requirements
  • Ability to develop test procedures that verify requirements
  • Ability to develop tracing between requirements, code, and verification
  • Working knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology

Desired:

  • Adjudicated Polygraph
  • Current IAT Level II or III certification (i.e. Security+, CISSP, or CASP)
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with an ability to engage with virtual teams
  • Familiarity with Cloud Architectures and deployment requirements for US DoD
  • Experience with using automated tests to sell off formal requirement verification
  • Experience with government Site Acceptance process and procedure
  • Experience in working with software-defined interfaces that use either XML or JSON to both document and implement
  • Experience with SATCOM or GEOINT systems
  • Demonstrated business acumen and ability to balance technical requirements with business needs
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and engage with virtual teams

  • Experience in the operational deployment of multi-product baselines and functionality
  • Experience with Cameo modeling tools
  • Experience developing a software architect using digital tools
  • Experience with DOORS or DOOR Next Gen

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$98,500-$206,800
