Own architecture and execution for AI-powered design experiences, including room generation, editing, recommendations, quality evaluation, and human accountability. Lead complex initiatives across 3D, rendering, AI agents, TypeScript GraphQL services, and modernization from a PHP monolith. Provide technical direction across teams, improve production systems, define major AI capabilities, evaluate model quality and tradeoffs, and mentor engineers.

Havenly Brands is a family of home design and furnishings companies united by a single mission: to make beautiful, personalized home design accessible to everyone. Our portfolio includes Havenly, Interior Define, Burrow, The Citizenry, The Inside, and St. Frank—spanning AI-powered interior design services, custom furniture, and globally-sourced artisan home goods.

With nearly a million designs created and a team of expert interior designers powered by cutting-edge technology, including AI visualization and 3D rendering tools, we're transforming how people discover, design, and furnish their homes. Headquartered in Denver with offices in New York, we're building the future of home at the intersection of technology, design, and consumer experience.

What you'll own
  • Architecture for our AI design experiences, from generating and editing room designs to product recommendations, including how we evaluate output quality and keep a human accountable for what ships.
  • The hardest, least-defined initiatives across the 3D and Studio stack, the AI agent platform, the TypeScript graph layer, and the services behind them.
  • The path off our older PHP monolith toward the graph and modern services, without stalling product work.
What success looks like
  • In 90 days: you've gone deep on the platform, shipped real improvements, and taken ownership of one ambiguous, high-impact area.
  • In a year: you've defined and delivered the architecture for a major AI design capability, raised the quality bar across the team, and mentored engineers into bigger scope.
How we work with AI

AI is core to both what we build and how we build it, and we're investing heavily in it, beyond using AI to write code faster.

  • Alongside our agent platform and LLM tooling, we're building an internal harness so agents can take on real engineering work, like error resolution, bug fixes, and feature enhancements, around the clock.
  • The team ships with Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor.
  • We want someone who can help architect this, has built or shipped AI-backed product features, can design eval sets and quality baselines, and can reason about model, data, and latency tradeoffs.
Must-haves
  • You've operated at a staff level and owned architecture and execution for complex systems across more than one team or product area.
  • Strong full-stack fundamentals across web, services, data, and infrastructure.
  • You've built or shipped AI-backed product features and can evaluate their quality honestly.
  • You set technical direction through influence and clear writing, and you stay accountable for systems in production.
Nice to have
  • 3D, graphics, rendering, or computer-vision experience.
  • Native iOS (Swift) experience.
  • Experience modernizing a monolith toward services or a graph.
Technologies we use
  • AI: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, an internal agent platform, and LLM tooling.
  • Web and mobile: React/TypeScript customer and designer apps, plus a native iOS app in Swift.
  • Backend: PHP, Node/TypeScript, a TypeScript GraphQL layer, Python.
  • 3D and Studio: Python rendering pipelines, our in-house 3D toolchain (Lunes), floorplan and visualization systems.
  • Infrastructure: AWS, Terraform, Docker.
Interview process

An initial phone screen, followed by two to three rounds of interviews with the team to confirm technical skill, personal fit, and role alignment.

Additional details
  • Location: open to remote candidates in select US locations, with a preference for Denver.
  • Compensation: $185,000 to $220,000, depending on experience. This role is also eligible for company equity.
  • Benefits: generous PTO, volunteer days off, medical, dental, vision, and disability coverage, a 401(k) with company match, free design services, furniture discounts, and merchandise credits.
  • We are accepting applications on an ongoing basis until the role is filled.
  • Havenly is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
