Job Duties and Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Roaming IR21 Engineer to join our team and support the execution and documentation of critical international roaming tests. This role will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of roaming tests for various network technologies (2G/3G/4G/VoLTE/5G), maintaining technical relationships with roaming partners, and ensuring that all reports and schedules are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and execute standard IREG roaming tests (e.g., IR.24, IR.25, IR.38), documenting results and ensuring test completeness.
  • Coordinate roaming test schedules, managing timely execution and ensuring coverage of all required test scenarios.
  • Act as technical liaison with international roaming partners, supporting test execution and issue resolution.
  • Create clear, concise reports and documentation for test results, issues, and resolutions; support regular and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Manage IR databases, SIM configurations, and provide support for TADIG testing and other roaming-related tasks.
  • Monitor roaming service quality and collaborate with internal network, core, and charging teams to troubleshoot and optimize performance.

Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • 8+ years in Industry
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical, Telecommunication and/or Computer Engineering
  • Experience with VoLTE (Voice over LTE) and LTE data testing (IR.25, IR.38)


Skills and Qualifications:
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G technologies and concepts, including an in-depth knowledge of SCCP routing, SS7 signaling protocols, and GSM MAP messages
  • Roaming Knowledge: Experience with international roaming, IREG testing, and TAP file reconciliation and validation
  • Numbering Plans: Familiarity with E.214 and E.164 numbering plan indicators
  • Core/Radio Network Knowledge: Basic understanding of core and radio networks as they relate to roaming services
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to international roaming, network traffic, and SIM management
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and liaising with both internal teams and external roaming partners
  • Knowledge of advanced roaming traffic quality monitoring and usage analytics

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $110,100.00/Year - $160,000.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
