The Student Conservation Association (SCA) recruits thousands of program participants annually, in addition to hiring staff across the organization. The Recruiting Coordinator (Recruiter) is responsible for full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, and recommending candidates for both seasonal program roles and staff positions.

This role partners closely with hiring managers to proactively plan for high-volume, recurring hiring needs and to ensure timely, effective recruitment outcomes. The Recruiting Coordinator is responsible for building strong candidate pipelines, delivering a high-quality candidate experience, and managing the recruitment process through offer and onboarding in collaboration with HR and compliance teams.

 

This position reports to the Recruiting Partner and works collaboratively across recruiting and program teams to meet organizational hiring goals.

This is a remote position with a salary range of $58,000–$60,000 annually.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for seasonal program participants, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and recommending candidates
  • Partner with hiring managers and the Recruiting Partner to anticipate hiring needs and develop proactive recruitment plans for high-volume, recurring roles
  • Post and manage job requisitions across job boards and the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies using a variety of tools, including Boolean searches, database mining, and outreach efforts
  • Build and maintain diverse, qualified candidate pipelines aligned with program and organizational needs
  • Screen resumes, conduct interviews, and assess candidate qualifications; advance and recommend candidates for hire
  • Facilitate candidate movement through the hiring process, including offers, onboarding, and compliance steps in partnership with HR teams
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual information sessions to promote opportunities and source external candidates.
  • Travel to regional and national career events, conferences, and partner sites to support recruitment efforts
  • Create and update job postings, recruitment marketing materials, and sourcing content
  • Track and maintain accurate candidate data in ATS and generate reports on recruiting activity and outcomes
  • Evaluate sourcing strategies, tools, and processes; recommend improvements based on hiring trends and results
  • Respond to candidate and hiring manager inquiries, escalating more complex issues as needed
  • Provide guidance and support to team members on recruiting processes and best practices
  • Participate in special projects and cross-functional HR initiatives as needed
Supervisory Responsibility
  • May provide seasonal supervision or guidance to temporary staff or team members
Qualifications
  • Experience in full-cycle recruiting, talent sourcing, or a related field
  • Strong ability to manage multiple requisitions in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service
  • Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams; experience with ATS platforms.
Education & Experience
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, problem-solve, and follow through on recruiting processes
Travel Requirements
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record required
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. The role may occasionally require lifting up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
