Job Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
  • Build partnerships and collaborates across business units, stakeholders, disciplines, and product areas to ensure user experience consistency and alignment with company objectives
  • Contribute to the evolution and governance of the enterprise design system
  • Develops and implements innovative team practices and processes that drive change and identify new opportunities for value creation
  • You are a thought leader inside and outside of DISH, providing clear vision for the future of design. Contribute to a growing library of 'plays' that help operationalize design work to ensure consistency in execution
  • Master, refine, and evolve the user experiences and usability of our TV and mobile products
  • Be a coach and mentor to the product design team
  • Evangelize the value of a mature design practice, and help develop standards and best-practices for design operations
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify, benchmark and track UX metrics across products

Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience with a proven track record of bringing to market digital experiences - start to finish
  • Bachelor's degree in UX, Interaction Design, HCI or similar from a four-year college or university
  • UX certification OR relevant work experience OR a combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered
  • At least 7 years experience as a UX or Product Designer
  • Real-world experience applying principles of agile, Design Thinking, and/or User-Centered Design methods to the product development life-cycle
  • Experience in developing experiences for people to find and watch video content on TVs, mobile, and streaming players preferred
  • Expert knowledge of common design tool stacks
  • Expert at bringing customers into the design process, from early discovery-phase user research, through to hypothesis validation via user testing
  • Experience working on TV interfaces and video content delivery services
  • Experience working with video content delivery services
  • Experience designing for multiple platforms, including desktop, mobile, TV, wearables, and voice
  • Working as an embedded designer with a product manager and tech lead
  • Experience contributing to high-level product design objectives and strategies

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Able to handle design projects independently end-to-end, from conception to post-launch monitoring
  • Effective, adaptable design process that covers the entire product design life-cycle
  • Expert knowledge of design systems
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design methods, and the tactical expertise that comes from regular, practical application of these design methods, preferably at enterprise-scale
  • Ability to lead a group of designers at the project level, and the power to influence others in order to build consensus while dealing with ambiguity
  • Deep understanding of user data and digital experience analytics, and experience leveraging data to derive insights useful to design
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that demands autonomy, accountability and results
  • Ability to identify MVP, and protect it from scope creep, and/or feature erosion

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $127,050.00/Year - $181,500.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
