Job Summary:
As a Staff Process Engineer in Arconic’s Rolling Department you will integrate process knowledge and hands-on problem-solving with data analysis by investigating process issues from a variety of sources including cameras, sensors, data historians, and observations from equipment operators and maintenance personnel. You will play a critical role in driving root cause problem solving by collecting, analyzing, and visualizing large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that help diagnose process problems.
ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:
- Collect, clean, analyze, and provide visualization of large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that help solve defined problems
- Implement process and quality improvements to meet plant goals.
- Partner with production, operations, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to solve complex challenges.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and develop long-term solutions for critical issues.
- Monitor key performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Stay ahead of industry best practices and introduce new technologies to enhance reliability.

You have: (required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Metallurgical Engineering.
- 5+ years of engineering experience. Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology to understand and diagnose processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex process issues.
- Office Computer skills, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Proficient in collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing large datasets.
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with individuals and teams at all levels of the organization.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Authorizations from the relevant government agency may be required to meet export control compliance requirements.
Exceptional Candidates also have: (preferred)
- 5+ years experience in a Manufacturing Environment
- Strong mechanical/electrical and process aptitude preferred
- Working knowledge of Process Control Systems.
- Statistical Analysis Tools (Ex: Minitab, Jmp).
- Working knowledge Metals Rolling Technology preferred. Operational knowledge regarding process, equipment capability, practices, systems.
- Ability to handle multiple projects/assignments concurrently and be results oriented.
- Dashboard Visualization Tools (ex: Power BI, R)
- Data Historian (ex: PI, PI Datalink)
- Understanding of database structures, data pipelines, and query optimization
- Proficient in process analysis, process modelling, statistical analysis and simulation software.
