Your Impact on our Mission
Zocdoc’s most important asset is our people. As a Staff Platform Engineer, you’ll play a meaningful role in making sure our engineering teams have the tools, frameworks, and infrastructure needed to deliver exceptional user experiences at scale. You’ll help shape the architecture of our frontend systems, drive best practices for performance and maintainability, and enable faster development cycles through platform innovation.
By collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll ensure our platform remains robust, flexible, and easy to use, empowering developers to focus on creating impactful features that serve our users. Your day to day is…
- Taking full ownership of architecting and building core frontend platform components and libraries to support cross-team initiatives.
- Collaborating closely with design, product, and backend engineering teams to create seamless and performant user experiences.
- Authentically mentoring and coaching engineers on best practices, code reviews, and technical decisions to elevate the entire team's performance.
- Developing and maintaining reliable, scalable, and accessible web solutions that prioritize the needs of Zocdoc users.
- Building and fostering strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to align on technical direction and deliverables.
- Proactively identifying and addressing technical debt, inefficiencies, and gaps in current systems while championing innovation.
You’ll be successful in this role if you have…

- Meaningful experience in building and scaling modern frontend platforms, preferably using React, TypeScript, and Next.js. Candidates for Senior Platform Engineer typically have 5+ years of experience; candidates for Staff Platform Engineer typically have 7+ years of experience.
- Passion for web performance, accessibility, and design systems that prioritize an excellent user experience.
- A compassionate, consultative, and confident approach when working with stakeholders at all levels.
- A fundamental understanding of software development principles, including CI/CD, testing strategies, and version control.
