The opportunity

As a Staff Network Reliability Engineer, you'll drive the delivery of secure, high-performance services to our customers through innovative automation and systems engineering. This position blends software development with infrastructure expertise to architect highly scalable, distributed, and fault-tolerant systems.

You'll thrive in this role if you're passionate about solving complex operational challenges and possess comprehensive knowledge of interconnected systems and services. Your ability to identify process inefficiencies, design elegant solutions, and communicate changes effectively will be essential. During critical incidents, you'll demonstrate composure under pressure while orchestrating recovery efforts and knowing when to escalate for additional expertise. Your collaborative nature and ability to translate technical concepts across disciplines will be key to turning strategic initiatives into reality

What you’ll do

  • Design and implement automated solutions to enhance system reliability and service stability through process optimization and re-engineering
  • Deploy and maintain hybrid infrastructure across physical and cloud environments, ensuring optimal delivery of compute, storage, and network resources
  • Establish and monitor Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to maintain production service health and performance standards
  • Create and maintain deployment tools and platforms that enable engineering teams to efficiently release services to production
  • Collaborate with development teams to implement operational best practices, enabling service ownership and reducing operational overhead
  • Mentor colleagues through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and professional development support
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices through continuous learning, professional development, and community engagement

The experience you bring

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in network automation engineering with a proven track record of delivering production solutions
  • Passion for automation and solving complex technical challenges
  • Advanced proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Go, Bash) and automation tools including Ansible, Terraform, Git Actions, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Production experience with enterprise network hardware from Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco, and Mist including both wired and wireless L2/L3 equipment
  • Comprehensive understanding of networking protocols including BGP, ISIS, MC-LAG, TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS, and experience with both IPv4 and IPv6 implementations
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and their automation services
  • Working knowledge of LAN technologies (VLANs, 802.1Q, 802.3ad) and optical networking (DWDM, SFP variants, fiber optics)
  • Experience implementing integrated RADIUS authentication across network access systems including Global Protect VPN, ZTP, wireless controllers, and 802.1X switch port access
  • Proficiency with network management tools including Panorama
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure and lead incident response efforts
  • Comfort with iterative development practices including frequent testing and deployment cycles

It’s exciting if you also have

  • Familiarity with Cloudflare DNS management and traffic routing configurations
  • JQL experience for advanced Jira searches and dashboard creation
