Staff Engineer (Full Stack)
Your Opportunity
Fluint is an early-stage startup building the platform and AI Agent (“Olli") for complex, B2B sales.
You’ll be joining a team on the leading edge in revenue tech:
- Building AI for a massive market shift. We’re creating AI to ride a fundamental shift in how B2B sales work: by helping buyers champion products internally — where 90% of purchasing decisions actually happen. It’s a new category, in a multi-billion dollar space.
- See your impact in real dollars. Your code directly helps sales teams close deals. When you ship a feature, you'll hear, “Yo! This helped me land a $250K deal!” Or, “We just closed 3 months faster because of this." Every line of your code translates to real revenue impact.
- Small team, big ownership. Join a founder-led startup with 500+ happy customers and proven product-market fit. Work directly with technical leadership, and have real influence over architecture and product direction as the company scales.
- Plus, we’re an AI-native company with tech advantages over, (1) legacy sales tech players; (2) “horizontal” platforms, in our core customer profile — complex sales. Backed by VC firms like Mucker and Drive Capital, with strong inbound demand, and traction upmarket.
Tech Stack
- Frontend: Vite, Typescript, React
- Backend: NestJS, Docker
- Data: Mongo, Redis
- Infrastructure: Terraform, AWS, Docker
The Job, An Overview
You’ll be working hand-in-hand with Fluint’s technical co-founder, Jon, while serving as a go-to engineer for building and shipping products our customers love.
That means you’ll dive headfirst into a fast, multi-faceted role requiring intense levels of user empathy, creativity, and technical prowess. You’ll also be given a significant amount of trust, autonomy, and the ability to directly own key features as you “swarm” with our team.
We love product-minded engineers who are insatiably curious, genuinely enjoy understanding our customers, want to weigh in on our product roadmap, and understand the goal is to provide customer value — not academic solutions.
We’re looking to hire both the right and left sides of your brain, so you’ll need to have a track record working across our stack, with a focus on building customer-facing implementations.
Your Day-to-Day
- Autonomy. You’ll work independently to define, develop, and deploy implementations to respond to user feedback. This includes shipping new features with autonomy.
- Full Stack. Expect to work across the full stack, from infrastructure to client-side code.
- Planning. You’ll play a crucial role in helping prioritize our roadmap based on user feedback. Your insights will shape our product direction, and ensure we deliver the best possible user experience.
- Prototyping & Testing. You’ll help our founders balance tradeoffs between shipping fast today, and scale and efficiency tomorrow. Often solving complex development issues by developing and running experiments to prove your approach.
The Human We’re Looking For
- You’re agile. You understand working at an early-stage startup will involve constantly changing priorities, and you are able to adapt and shift focus accordingly.
- You’re humble, and self-motivated. This job will ask a lot, and we hope you’re excited by a chance to own large projects independently, and push the limits of your knowledge.
- You’re judicious, knowing when to code and when to avoid it. We’re a small team and judicious about where we spend our time. You should evaluate the trade-offs involved with writing new code to say when it’s (not) wise. You should also know when to work independently and make a decision — versus bringing a question to the team.
- You’re delighted by difficult problems. Previously-unsolved challenges gives you energy. You can think abstractly to help you find the most efficient ways to solve them, and feel accomplished when you do.
- You’re lean and deadline-oriented. You scope your work to help others understand if deadlines are achievable, and then you execute, execute, execute.
Product Philosophy
- We heavily invest in a solid product foundation, with building blocks that allow us to roll out modular products and enhancements fast, releasing to users early & often.
- We strongly believe the right people in the right roles will deliver far more customer and business impact than just upping headcount. We interview, hire, and pay accordingly.
- Customer pain is our pain. We feel it, and want to fix it with user interviews that define, design, and roll out the right solutions.
- We value our heads down time and ability to work in flow. We create space for focus and ensure we’re able to commit well over 30+ hours/week to deep work.
To Apply
Our founders and most of the team is based in Denver, CO, but we have a hybrid work setup, with engineers in 3 states. (We’re out to find the right people, but Denver’s a plus.)
If you’re interested, email your resume to [email protected], with "Staff Engineer" in the subject.
Instead of sending a traditional cover letter, please answer these two questions in your email:
- What's a commonly-held belief in product teams you don't agree with?
- What technical project are you working on outside of work? Why?
After, our process is a 15-minute call with Jon, and if we both agree there's potential, a coding challenge and technical interview.
