The PV Engineer will review and validate residential photovoltaic systems, ensuring compliance with codes, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with teams.
We are seeking a motivated PV Engineer to join our Asset Management team and support the review, validation, and quality assurance of residential photovoltaic (PV) systems. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented engineer—ideal for a new graduate with strong electrical or mechanical engineering skills—to contribute to sustainable energy solutions while gaining hands-on experience.
You will be responsible for reviewing design packages, inspecting installations, ensuring compliance with the NEC and local jurisdictional codes, and collaborating with contractors, sales teams, and technicians to maintain the highest standards of quality.
Responsibilities:
- Review electrical and mechanical PV system designs for compliance with NEC, local codes, and internal standards.
- Conduct daily reviews of completed residential PV installations.
- Support contractors and partners with process, permitting, and equipment questions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer and contractor technical issues (via phone, email, or site visits).
- Validate project milestones and sign off on system installations.
- Perform basic electrical calculations and PV energy production estimations.
- Assist in educating contractors on best practices and standard procedures.
- Document workflows, system performance, and compliance issues.
- Collaborate across sales, operations, and construction teams to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to optimize workflows and customer experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or licensed Electrician).
- Strong knowledge of residential construction and PV systems (battery storage experience a plus).
- Familiar with NEC (National Electrical Code).
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, including wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Experience or familiarity with CAD tools.
- PC proficiency: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); Salesforce experience a plus.
- Excellent organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Team player with a high level of integrity, professionalism, and customer focus.
