As a Staff DevOps Engineer at Teladoc Health, you’ll play a critical role in shaping how we build, test, release and run software across our global suite of healthcare solutions. You will lead high-impact initiatives focused on automation, reliability, scalability, and security—driving best-in-class DevOps practices across the organization.
In this highly autonomous position, you’ll partner with Engineering, Architecture, and Operations teams to solve complex infrastructure challenges and build repeatable, resilient systems that support our next-generation platform. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Define and implement a long-term vision for DevSecOps practices that meet the requirements and needs of the commercial platform and application teams.
Lead system design and architecture efforts, serve as a trusted partner to ensure scalability, observability, reliability, and security are built into systems from day one.
Decompose complex problems into clean, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
Collaborate with software architects to optimize cloud-native application design, including compute, caching, load balancing, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring strategies.
Own the design and improvement of CI/CD/CT pipelines; contribute directly to pipeline features and integration work.
Guide engineering teams on ITIL-aligned practices and compliance with regulatory frameworks such as HiTrust and FedRAMP.
Mentor and support the career growth of junior engineers; lead by example in technical excellence and collaboration.
Participate in roadmap planning, technical prioritization, and cross-team coordination to ensure DevOps strategies are embedded across product teams.
Lead vulnerability patching and cloud infrastructure reviews in partnership with the Cloud Engineering team.
Contribute to internal documentation on architecture, tooling, and standard operating procedures.
Deliver internal workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions to empower teams on DevOps best practices.
Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation as a senior escalation point.
Qualifications Required for Position
8+ years in DevOps, SRE, or related infrastructure roles, lead experience highly preferred.
Proven ability to lead teams in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, focusing on solutions over problems.
Skilled in managing complex software and infrastructure projects using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
Hands-on experience with designing and operating CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
Proficient in automation scripting with one at least one of the following languages: Ruby, Java, Scala, Groovy, Python.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform required, Ansible is a plus) and container orchestration (Kubernetes required).
Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure (Azure required), APIs, and large-scale systems management.
Familiarity with software development lifecycle, version control (Git), and issue tracking (Jira).
Knowledge of system monitoring and visualization tools (New Relic and/or Grafana experience required).
Must be able to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
Bonus Qualifications
Strong experience collaborating with customers, partners, or third-party developers.
Additional experience in Maven, Gradle, SonarQube, Artifactory, and Selenium is a plus.
Experience working with Postgres, MySQL, Capistrano, Puppet preferred.
Background in managing hybrid cloud or multi-region infrastructure environments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work across distributed teams.
Previous experience in healthcare, regulated industries, or high-compliance environments is a plus.
The base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $180,000. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here Teladoc Health Benefits 2025 . Total compensation is based on several factors, including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications.
