Data is considered a strategic asset here at Ibotta and this role will provide the opportunity to gain a deep understanding of our data by working with the data through its full lifecycle. As a Staff Decision Scientist, you will build the tools necessary to conduct deep dive analyses of our products; and create accurate and efficient reporting. This may include validating data, building data pipelines, and developing statistical models. You will also be conducting A/B tests to make product decisions and provide insights to business stakeholders in support of key strategies.
his position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States.
What you will be doing:
Understand and report business performance in detail to leadership as well as identify opportunities for business optimization and advanced strategy
Design, develop and deploy advanced analytics solutions end-to-end, as a trusted analytics partner to our internal stakeholders and leadership teams to support business decisions
Communicate complex analyses and data intricacies in a clear, concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences
Ideation, development, and support on strategic initiatives including statistical modeling and advanced analytics
Place actionable data points and trends in context for leadership to understand actual performance and uncover opportunities
Working cross-functionally with the Product team to analyze usage and uncovering key, actionable insights about Ibotta users behavior
Designing and measuring controlled experiments to determine the potential impact of new approaches
Brainstorming new ways to leverage our data for the betterment of Ibotta’s products

What we are looking for:
7+ years of practical work experience in Analytics
Bachelor’s degree in computer science/mathematics/statistics/data science or equivalent experience preferred
Experience using modern data analysis and pipeline tools (Python, Databricks, Hive, Spark, Airflow, GitHub etc)
Experience with modern BI tools (Mode, Looker, Tableau, etc)
An understanding of the key concepts of consumer behavior
Proven expertise using SQL to wrangle, clean, and query large datasets
Ability to think creatively, provide thoughtful insights, and develop impactful automated reporting to management
Ability to develop, automate, visualize, analyze, and communicate learnings to leadership
Experience with effective communication of analytical outputs to stakeholders, including development of data summaries, visualizations and other storytelling methods
Knowledge of A/B testing best practices
Ability to work collaboratively throughout the organization to drive towards common goals
A willingness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative on ambiguous projects
Keeping abreast of the latest advances in data science and data pipelines

This position is located in Denver, CO and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Employee Stock Purchase Program, and 401k match. Denver office perks include paid parking, snacks and occasional meals.
Base compensation range: $152,000 - $175,000. Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component in addition to base salary. Equity is included in overall compensation package. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience.
