Role
As a Data Governance & Quality Analyst/Engineer, you'll be responsible for driving strategy and execution across our governance frameworks, data quality programs, and metadata tooling. You will serve as a product owner for internal data governance platforms, partner with cross-functional teams to align on compliance and ownership standards, and promote a culture of data stewardship across the company.

- Drive the data governance roadmap aligned with product, engineering, and business goals.
- Design and implement scalable frameworks to ensure data trust, security, and platform reusability.
- Establish and maintain data ownership models with engineering, analytics, and product teams.
- Partner with Legal and cross-functional stakeholders to conduct data governance reviews.
- Coordinate policy awareness, adoption, and updates across teams.
- Data Quality Management
- Implement automated data quality checks across pipelines in partnership with dev teams.
- Monitor and manage key data quality KPIs using commercial or in-house DQ tooling.
- Collaborate with data engineers to manage schema validation, anomaly detection, and alerting.
- Resolve high-impact data issues that affect customer experience or metric integrity.
- Governance Tooling & Product Management
- Serve as product owner for data governance tooling and metadata platforms.
- Define and maintain roadmaps for internal data products related to lineage, cataloging, and governance workflows.
- Partner with engineering to integrate or scale metadata management and discovery solutions.
- Cross-Functional Alignment
- Work closely with engineering, data science, analytics, security, and legal teams to align governance practices.
- Translate data governance needs into clear technical and product requirements.
- Ensure business stakeholders (e.g., product managers, marketing, GTM) have access to trusted, well-documented data.
- Metadata & Lineage Management
- Oversee automated metadata and lineage tracking across data tools (e.g., PBI, Snowflake).
- Provide visibility into upstream/downstream data flows to support compliance and impact analysis.
- Regulatory Compliance & Risk
- Implement controls to ensure compliance with privacy/security regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2).
- Collaborate with Legal and Governance teams on data classification, access control, and audit readiness.
- Support and prepare for internal and external data audits.
- Culture & Enablement
- Champion data stewardship best practices across teams and functions.
- Lead data quality and governance education efforts for product and engineering orgs.
- Deliver dashboards, documentation, and scorecards to track data governance progress and adoption.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
- Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry
- BA/BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Business or analytical field
- 8+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, or metadata management in a fast-paced tech or SaaS environment
- Strong experience working cross-functionally across engineering, analytics, product, and legal teams.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python, with practical experience using Snowflake for data processing and transformation
- Skilled in reporting and dashboard creation using Power BI
- Deep understanding of data governance principles and frameworks
- Demonstrated experience implementing and monitoring data quality programs at scale
- Strong initiative and ownership mindset, with the ability to drive progress independently and proactively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence across a wide range of stakeholders
