Job Duties and Responsibilities
Staff Data Engineer -DISH Network in Englewood, Colorado.
Partner with data analysts, data scientists, and functional stakeholders to define needs and continuously improve the data platform. Engage with external executives and business stakeholders to identify pain points and communicate our solutions. Design and build mechanisms to tune, filter, and manage streaming big data from a wide variety of sources in a distributed platform. Define and evaluate key tasks and acceptance criteria of data systems in development and into production. Contribute to the overall data platform architecture and evolution/consider and build in a reusable and scalable manner. Normalize complicated data sources to convert potentially unusable data into a format that can be efficiently used by software and/or employees. Mentor junior engineers and new team members.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Requires Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related field. 5 years of experience in job offered or similar roles. Experience must include 5 years with/using the following:
Experience gained before or after Master's degree is acceptable.

Compensation: $169,187.00/Year

- Building reusable frameworks for Data Mesh Infrastructures (IaC, parameterized pipelines, containerized software, and data CI/CD)
- Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load)
- Implementing data-driven solutions using Kafka, Hadoop, Impala, Hive, NiFi, Prometheus, Spark, Athena, Redshift, ElasticSearch, BigTable, and Airflow.
- Data Architectures such as Kappa, Lambda and Data Mesh.
- AWS technologies (EC2, EMR, S3, Lake Formation, Redshift, IAM, Lambda)
Experience gained before or after Master's degree is acceptable.
