About the Position:

The Staff Accountant reports to the Director of Finance and is responsible for the monthly transaction of Revenue in Broker Management Systems (BMS). This individual will prepare and process statements, uploads and enter statements into the BMS system, prepare statement reconciliations, ensure compliance with GAAP and adhere to company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the monthly transacting of revenue in all BMS
• Prepare timely, accurate, and compliant statement reconciliations as assigned
• Research and analyze data as requested
• Run and distribute month end and ad-hoc reports
• Proactively pursue resolution on outstanding items
• Participation in process improvement and design
• Take ownership and seek opportunities to expand skill set

Qualifications:

• Requires at least 1 year of experience in the accounting field
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
• Insurance or retirement and private wealth experience a plus but not necessary
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Intermediate Excel skills required (vlookup, pivot tables, basic understanding of formulas, etc.)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure to achieve deadlines
• High degree of accuracy with attention to detail
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced and changing environment
• Team-oriented mindset with ability to collaborate effectively
• Must have some flexibility of work hours and the ability to put in extra hours during peak times
