Position Overview
New Western is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. This role is ideal for early-career professionals with 1–3 years of accounting experience — including internships or entry-level positions. You’ll be part of a small, collaborative group handling day-to-day accounting operations such as month-end close, reconciliations, and general ledger management. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare reconciliations for bank, credit card, and GL accounts across multiple entities
- Assist in month-end close, including accruals, intercompany entries, and journal posting
- Support property deal closing entries and internal transfers
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and participate in internal audits
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and related journal entries
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to special projects as needed
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- 1–3 years of hands‑on accounting experience (including internships or early professional roles)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ease with accounting software
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn NetSuite, Salesforce, and Ramp
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time‑management in a remote environment
- Positive attitude, coachability, and willingness to grow
