ROLE OVERVIEW
Pivot Energy is seeking a motivated and self-directed Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Team, headquartered in Denver. This position supports both the company headquarters and regional offices, with projects in development throughout the country. This role is responsible for assisting with general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, reviewing and posting accounts payable and accounts receivable, and performing other administrative duties related to accounting. This is an exciting, fast-paced industry requiring creative thinking and problem-solving skills to succeed. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles and a passion for sustainability and clean energy.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with processing accounts payable vendor invoices daily.
- Manage accounts receivable process, including but not limited to invoicing, lien waivers, and collections.
- Assist in the reconciliation of weekly cash flow.
- Monitor and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
- Reconcile bank statements and other general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Assist with the month-end and year-end close process.
- Assist with external audits by preparing supporting documentation.
- Assist the Accounting Team with special projects as needed.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in accounting.
- Self-starter with strong self-motivation and a proven capacity to work in a fast-paced, highly fluid environment.
- Must be detail-oriented with hands-on execution capability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
PREFERRED COMPETENCIES
- Prior experience in the solar industry is a plus
- Familiarity with Sage Intacct
