Reddit is seeking a strong, hands on, analytical and strategic Senior Finance Manager to join our Technology FP&A team, with a primary focus on Cloud Hosting spend. This role will provide Finance and Technology leadership with complete visibility into hosting costs and ensure a clear understanding of the drivers of change. The Finance Manager will integrate hosting spend into Reddit's budget and forecasts, reconcile actuals during the close, and partner with Engineering to track and validate cost-saving initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Forecasting & Budgeting
- Develop sophisticated financial models for hosting spend, long-term financial planning, and strategic contract negotiations
- Conduct scenario analysis for scaling, product launches, and contract commitments
- Lead monthly variance analysis of spend vs. the budget and forecast for different LoBs
- Build standardized and consistent reporting packages highlighting trends and their impact on Reddit’s P&L
- Develop cost optimization initiatives and tracking mechanisms
- Develop ROI models to support cloud investments in the areas of strategic importance
- Cost Optimization & Governance
- Leverage previous experiences and industry best practices to proactively propose efficiency initiatives to engineering
- Drive savings initiatives to completion by developing accountability mechanisms for engineering
- Enforce tagging and allocation governance for improved visibility and accountability
- Serve as a financial advisor to engineering, SRE, and cloud platform teams, providing insights on budgeting, unit economics, optimizations and financial strategy.
- Analytics & Tools
- Build and maintain dashboards to serve as Finance’s source of truth for hosting cost reporting.
- Use billing tools to support reporting accuracy.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and regulations related to cloud technology and incorporate findings into financial strategies
- Cost of Revenue (COR) Ownership
- Complete ownership of the COR forecast.
- Own and maintain the weekly COR file, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely updates
- Provide clear weekly visibility into changes in hosting costs, explaining drivers of variance to Finance and Technology leadership.
- Partner with Accounting during close to reconcile COR actuals with invoices and financial records.
- 8+ years of experience in FP&A, Technology Finance, or Cost of Revenue management.
- Prior experience includes AWS and GCP contract negotiations.
- Proven experience owning and maintaining Cost of Revenue or Hosting budget files (weekly/monthly) and explaining drivers of change to leadership.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and GCP billing tools (Cost Explorer, CUR, Budgets).
- Proficiency with dashboard building, data modeling, financial reporting.
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis skills with proven accuracy in managing Hosting budget vs. actuals.
- Demonstrated ability to track and report hosting cost savings from optimization initiatives and commitment programs.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills to partner with Finance, Engineering, and Accounting.
- Strongly prefer background in professional services (consulting, Big 4, or advisory) with exposure to structured financial processes or cost governance.
