Job Description

Role Type: Contract

Work Status: W2

Duration: (6 months, with possible extension)

Location: Remote / United States

Eligibility: U.S. Citizen / Green Card

Start Date: Immediate

Travel: up to 5% as needed

Compensation: up to $80/hr. 

 

How You’ll Make an Impact 

Burwood Group is seeking a Contract Sr. Project Manager to lead a critical transformation project for a major client in the freight industry. This long-term contract centers on a large-scale initiative requiring hands-on operational oversight and the ability to manage multiple concurrent work streams. The ideal candidate is exceptionally organized, structured, and able to drive alignment across stakeholders, the client, and Burwood project teams.

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery across multiple client initiatives, safeguarding quality, scope, and profitability.
  • Oversee and coordinate several work streams simultaneously, ensuring all are on track and aligned with project goals.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project roadmaps, milestones, and success metrics.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, keep teams on task, and ensure all deliverables are met on schedule.
  • Track progress, risks, and dependencies while reporting to leadership and governance bodies.
  • Package and deliver weekly project health status reports for executive presentation.
  • Assist with strategies to identify risks and develop mitigation plans.

Qualifications

Your Strengths in Action 

 

  • 5 or more years of experience leading complex technology and business transformation projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing multiple work streams within large-scale projects.
  • Highly skilled in the development and execution of communications planning.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities; solution-oriented and productive.
  • Exceptionally organized, structured, and able to keep teams focused and on task.
  • Able to handle a wide variety of personalities and foster collaboration.
  • Quick learner who adapts rapidly to new environments and challenges.
  • Versed in managing work in both Waterfall and Agile delivery frameworks.
  • At least one Project Management-centric certification, preferably PMP or CSM.
  • Competent in building presentations, process value mapping, workflow diagrams, and SOWs.

Required experience

  • Experience with JIRA is required.
  • Proven experience managing large enterprise-wide system change projects.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience leading projects in the freight/logistics industry.
