Current Need:
The Sr. Technical Product Portfolio Manager will support product evaluation and portfolio optimization through hands-on analysis, data stewardship, and metric development. This role conducts product-level performance evaluations, helps with product taxonomy, and helps identify and capture data in support of metrics development. This person will assist in preparing dashboards and reports for portfolio reviews, contribute to the development of standardized KPIs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights and align on evaluation criteria. With a strong focus on analytical rigor and operational execution, this role plays a critical part in enabling data-driven decision-making and continuous improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Analysis & Metrics
Pull product performance data from internal systems, validate accuracy, and prepare datasets for analysis.
Apply standardized formulas to compute metrics like adoption, retention, ROI, and feature utilization across products.
Leverage visual reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to reflect current product and portfolio performance.
Analyze trends across products, segments, or time periods to identify outliers, patterns, and optimization opportunities.
Maintain a centralized repository of metric definitions, data sources, and calculation logic to ensure consistency across teams.
Product Taxonomy & Metadata
Maintain accurate taxonomy tags for each product, ensuring alignment with lifecycle stage, product type, and business unit ownership.
Regularly review product metadata across systems to identify and correct inconsistencies, gaps, or outdated entries.
Collaborate with product managers and strategy leads to document and implement updates to taxonomy structure or definitions.
Ensure taxonomy enables effective filtering, grouping, and reporting in dashboards and portfolio tools.
Maintain reference materials that define taxonomy categories, metadata fields, and governance protocols for internal stakeholders.
Educate & Advocate
Develop and maintain guides, glossaries, and visual aids that explain portfolio metrics, evaluation frameworks, and taxonomy logic to non-technical stakeholders.
Participate in onboarding and enablement sessions to help product teams and business units understand how portfolio optimization supports strategic decision-making.
Share insights and success stories from portfolio analysis to demonstrate the value of optimization efforts and encourage adoption of best practices across teams.
Minimum Requirement:
Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience in progressively advancing analysis roles.
Critical Skills:
7+ years of professional experience in progressively advancing analysis roles.
Certification in the use of analytic tools, or equivalent analytic experience.
4+ experience building and managing dashboards and performance frameworks, conducting product or program performance evaluations, or related experience.
Proven ability to define and track KPIs and ROI for digital initiatives
Health industry experience a plus.
Additional Skills:
Experience with data modeling and digital analytics platforms.
Working Conditions:
Traditional office environment.
Commutable to Dallas/Fort Worth area is highly preferred but not required.
Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
