The Sr. Systems Engineer, Infrastructure is responsible for supporting iT1 Customers in our 24x7x365 Managed Services Division. You will provide assistance with support, incident management, problem management and change management for devices and resources monitored by iT1 Managed Services, including Windows, Unix, Linux servers, network devices and applications as well as other supported configuration items for internal and client systems.
- Research, resolve, and respond to internal and client issues within scope of the Managed Services responsibilities in a timely manner, these include but are not limited to user/system support, ticketing system entries, and client facing status updates, etc.
- Plan, strategize, analyze, modify, implement, document, enhance, and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure systems.
- Advises on enhancements for corporate systems design and components; performs critical evaluation and selection of the hardware components of the solution.
- Proactively identifies and corrects systems issues, performance, storage, network, application, backup, and recovery.
- Develops systems reports on the health and status of the systems.
- Maintains all documentation pertaining to projects, solutions, and associated systems.
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert for assigned client environments.
- Maintains a close working relationship with Leadership, Sales team, and Client Success Managers.
- Attend monthly and quarterly client meetings.
- Act as an escalation contact for junior engineers.
- On-call rotation.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related experience
- Ability to represent the organization in a professional and effective manner.
- Established track record as a senior engineer in various technologies (Linux/Windows Servers, Citrix, Data Center, and Client/Server Application Support)
- Position requires 7+ years of experience with the following but not limited to:
- Managing Windows systems, including, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 R2
- Microsoft enterprise services such as:
- Active Directory
- Windows Servers, physical and virtual
- Microsoft Exchange
- Windows desktops, physical and virtual
- DNS
- DHCP
- Cloud platforms and IaaS technologies
- Microsoft Azure
- Office 365
- Experience working with virtual infrastructure required.
- Citrix XenDesktop, XenApp, XenMobile, NetScaler, etc.
- VMware vSphere, vCenter, Horizon\View, vRealize Operations, NSX, vSAN, vCloud, etc.
- Microsoft Hyper-V, App-V, etc.
- Experience with Enterprise Backup software (NetBackup, Commvault, Veeam)
- Experience with large scale datacenter operations
- Experience migrating large infrastructures from physical to virtual environments.
- Experience with blade and standalone servers from Dell, HP, Cisco, etc.
- Experience utilizing VBScript and/or PowerShell to automate systems management, deployment, and implementation functions.
- Network and server monitoring tools (Logic Monitor, Solar Winds)

- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation.

- Microsoft Azure Administrator
