As a Senior Supplier Development Engineer for the Electronics Value Stream, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of electronic suppliers. You will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships with suppliers, managing their performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and supply chain efficiency.
You will report directly to our Sr Director of Supplier Development, and you will work in a remote fashion. This role will be expected to have an on-site presence at a key supplier based in Neenah, WI.
In this role, you will impact our supplier development by bringing your extensive expertise and experience to our organization. You will play a critical role in driving supplier performance and ensuring that our suppliers meet the highest quality standards. Your contributions directly impact our organization's operational excellence and overall success.
ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supplier Capability Assessment: Evaluate the capabilities of Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) and support the transition of hardware from development to production.
- Quality Improvement Plans: Conduct supplier risk assessments and implement targeted quality improvement plans specific to EMS processes.
- Performance Management: Lead and participate in capacity assessment exercises, driving supplier performance by establishing clear metrics and performance expectations related to EMS.
- Operational Excellence: Partner with Suppliers to Lead and support OPEX projects enabling improvements in product flow / throughput, lead time reduction, & yield.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that EMS suppliers comply with quality management systems, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborative Engagement: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to resolve supplier-related issues and improve overall supply chain performance.
YOU MUST HAVE
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials, Supply Chain, Business, Management
•7 years+ of manufacturing engineering and supplier development experience
• Experience in one or more of the following: Quality, Business, Supplier Management background (supplier quality and/or development)
• Global Mindset: Capable of working effectively across borders with employees, customers and shareholders to develop business opportunities that lie beyond community and country borders. Supports sourcing for representing quality to manufacture, deliver products and services efficiently/effectively globally.
• Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements
WE VALUE
- Knowledge of aerospace standards and practices related to electronics components, PWB manufacturing, circuit card assembly.
- In-depth knowledge of supplier development strategies, supplier relationship management, and quality control
- Experience with project management and Kaizen facilitation
- Familiarity with Total Preventative Maintenance, asset management for downtime reduction, critical spare parts, and CAPEX proposals.
- Proficiency in budget management and financial acumen
- Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Green or Black Belt Certification(s) in Lean / Six Sigma.
