We are searching for a Sr. Software Integration Engineer, a role that is integral to bridging Voltera’s Product, Operations, IT Systems, and Customer Solutions teams. Integrations will be performed individually or in collaboration with external integration teams by diligently laying out technical requirements, adhering to existing communication protocols and APIs, identifying and mitigating gaps through collaboration with external systems teams’ testing, and validating the integrated software functionality. This person will be responsible for verifying our energy and charging solution(s) at the complete end-to-end software system level, including Charger and Charger Management System interoperability, power metering system data, ticketing system, and other software systems we may leverage for a complete solution to our customers and internal users. They will also contribute to Voltera Cloud and business system software development when an integration impacts user-facing views or workflows.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead all integrations—either developing the integration yourself or managing a 3rd party team—including the Voltera Cloud Platform and other internal business technology systems
  • Participate in development team planning and design sessions.
  • Contribute to product requirements/design documents and provide timely feedback.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
  • Identify, record, document the observations thoroughly.
  • Engage with third-party system teams to track deliverables and issues.
  • Perform thorough verification testing when bugs fixes are made.
  • Develop technical and user-facing documentation.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

MUST-HAVE:

  • 5+ years of experience in software systems integration or backend software development
  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Experience building and deploying AI agents
  • Technical leadership in integration planning, with a demonstrated ability to coordinate across teams and drive technical projects to closure
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of leading teams and working effectively with cross-functional peers
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with sound business judgment and empathy for end users
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for emerging technologies, particularly in EV, EV charging, energy management, and AI agent deployment
  • Highly organized and dependable, able to manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines

NICE-TO-HAVE:

  • Solid knowledge of charging protocols like OCPP and OCPI
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing
  • Experience working with tools like Salesforce, NetSuite, and Power BI
  • Experience integrating AI tools with enterprise systems and building/deploying custom agents

LOCATION:

  • Remote — CA, CO, GA, TX, VA, or Washington D.C.

Base compensation ($150,000 to $180,000): Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Our total compensation package includes the base salary, bonus, incentive equity compensation, and competitive benefits (medical/vision/dental insurance, matching 401(k), unlimited vacation time, & EV incentive).
