About the Role:
Brevity is looking for a hands-on Senior Software Engineer who loves shipping production code and owning product features end-to-end. You will build across their Python/Django + React stack, help evolve their architecture as usage grows 10×, and champion engineering best practices. This is intended as a pure IC role – minimal people management and minimal business-side meetings.

Brevity is a venture-backed, seed-stage startup based in Minneapolis, MN. We offer AI-driven SaaS solutions to Fortune 500s and Mid-Market firms to improve their revenue performance by coaching BD, Sales, CS, management, etc. in the development of enterprise conversational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, test, and deploy product features across our stack:
- AWS, Kubernetes, Postgres (RDS), Redis, SQS, Lambda, DynamoDB
- Python/Django, React, Tailwind / Material-UI
- Integrations with our subprocessors (see https://trust.brevitypitch.com)
- Contribute to system-level architecture and technical design reviews focused on performance, reliability, security, and cost.
- Champion engineering excellence—code review, automated testing, observability, CI/CD—helping us scale to the next order of magnitude.
- Collaborate closely with Product and Design to break down requirements, estimate effort, and deliver incremental value on predictable timelines.
- Occasionally provide mentorship to junior/mid-level engineers through pair-programming and thoughtful feedback, while remaining a strong individual contributor.
- Participate in a low-intensity on-call rotation (roughly one week per quarter) alongside the rest of the engineering team.
Required Qualifications:
- Recent experience (last 2 yrs) as a Senior Software Engineer in an early-stage, high-growth, fast-paced Startup team.
- Familiarity with some or all of: Python/Django, React, AWS, Kubernetes, Postgres, Redis/SQS, Lambda, DynamoDB.
- In the last 6mos: Shipped PRs for Back-End and Front-End microservices, integrated with Cloud Services, ideally with several elements of the aforementioned stack.
- 3+ yrs building and scaling enterprise SaaS applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication – able to explain technical trade-offs clearly to fellow engineers, maintains positive outlook in the face of challenge.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading development of conversational AI products.
- Experience working in an engineering team at Series Seed/A stage.
- Familiar with SOC 2 requirements.
