Description

Senior Software Engineer, Platform
Remote | Full-Time | Industrial Analytics

Seeq builds advanced analytics software that unlocks insights from industrial process data—think pharmaceuticals, oil & gas, energy, and manufacturing industries. We help engineers and data scientists solve complex problems using mountains of sensor data.

As a remote-first company since day one, Seeq is built for distributed teamwork. Our engineers thrive in a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning. We embrace agile practices and leverage tools like Zoom, Slack, and our homegrown Qube Virtual Office to stay connected.

🔧 What You’ll Do

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll help shape the foundation of Seeq’s SaaS platform—designing and building services that power reliable, scalable, and observable cloud deployments. You’ll:

  • Build and support core infrastructure and platform services used by Seeq engineering teams.
  • Operate production systems and respond to incidents to ensure reliability for our customers.
  • Help developers own their services in production by improving observability, automation, and incident response practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and drive adoption of engineering best practices.

💡 What Drives You

You love building tools and platforms that help others move faster. Automating manual tasks, eliminating tech debt, and creating elegant solutions are your passions. You’re calm in the face of a production issue, quick to mitigate, and relentless about finding root causes.

🤝 How You Work

You collaborate through code reviews, pair programming, and continuous feedback. You stay engaged with internal developer users to reduce friction and improve the platform. You're proactive, self-directed, and always looking for better ways to get things done.

🛠 Our Stack (you don’t need all of these to apply)

  • Languages: Kotlin, Python, Go
  • Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS or Azure
  • Observability: Grafana, Prometheus
  • Tools: GitHub, CircleCI, Qube (our virtual office), and more
Requirements

What You Bring

  • 4+ years of experience building and operating production software systems
  • Deep experience with at least one modern programming language (Python, Kotlin, or Go preferred)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi), and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and software design skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent hands-on experience

✈️ A Little Travel, A Lot of Balance

We gather in person once a year and otherwise work from wherever you do best. We value flexibility, autonomy, and sustainable productivity.
