About The Role:

Zora is looking for an experienced infrastructure software engineer to work closely with the development team to ensure that the infrastructure meets the needs of the business and is scalable and highly available, including indexer service, API, data pipeline, disaster recovery, and other blockchain-related project support.

Examples of Software at Zora:
  • An RPC proxy that intelligently routes blockchain traffic between in-house and vendor nodes, ensuring data consistency, improving our reliability
  • A platform that reduces friction for engineers to deploy, monitor, and manage production code
  • Our highly performant in-house Kubernetes cluster running on bare metal servers
  • The Zora RPC service, surfacing blockchain data for our core indexing infra
What You'll Do:
  • Design, build, and deliver software to enhance the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Zora’s infrastructure platform
  • Provide technical and strategic input to shape the direction of the infrastructure platform
  • Operate and maintain core infrastructure systems in service of enhancing the developer experience
  • Automate key infrastructure workflows, including service lifecycle management and critical operational processes
  • Participate in the team’s on-call rotation and respond to production incidents as needed
What We're Looking For:
  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure and/or platform engineering, with a focus on software development
  • Proficiency in Go (preferred) or Python
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or similar orchestration systems
  • Operational experience with distributed storage systems like Ceph
  • Familiarity with Python’s asyncio programming model
  • Experience with frontend serverless platforms like Vercel, Cloudflare Pages Functions, etc
  • Understanding of Ethereum and EVM-compatible chains, including L2 architectures like Polygon, Optimism, and Base
  • Knowledge of L2 scaling solutions such as optimistic rollups, zk-rollups, Plasma, sidechains, and bridges
  • Passion for learning and exploring new technologies and paradigms
  • Experience designing large-scale systems, breaking down complex problems, and aligning with cross-functional engineering teams
  • Familiarity with blockchain infrastructure, including RPC nodes and IPFS
  • Strong experience with database technologies such as MongoDB and Postgres
  • Solid understanding of monitoring and observability practices using tools like Datadog and/or OpenTelemetry
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, from orchestration layers down to system runtimes
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with a collaborative and service-oriented mindset
Here's the Pay Range:
At Zora, we carefully consider a variety of factors to determine compensation for each position, including the role, level, and work. The US base salary range for this position is:
  • Pay Range: $170,000 - $200,000 base salary + equity + tokens
This reflects the compensation target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Please note, the compensation details provided do not include benefits and perks that we offer. 
 
We also rely on market indicators along with considering your work location, job related skills, experience and relevant education and training, to determine compensation that is fair and competitive for you. Zora will consider paying compensation near the higher of the range in exceptional circumstances, where candidates have the experience, credentials or expertise that would warrant such consideration.
