Position Summary
We are looking for a driven and experienced permanent/full-time Lead Automation Engineer/QA to join our growing company. The ideal individual will participate in all elements of the project’s software development and testing processes. Their knowledge and skillset will be entirely focused on testability, robustness, and performance of software testing and development processes. They will provide critical automated quality assurance and testing capability to the project’s engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Designed, developed, and executed automated test plans and procedures across various test levels and environments for quality assurance.
- Analyzed software defects, documented risks, and proposed solutions.
- Collaborated in product requirements and design reviews, giving insights on functional requirements and potential issues.
- Managed, cataloged, and helped determine prioritization of known defects.
- Planned test schedules aligned with product delivery.
- Provided subject matter expertise about existing functionality and how the system operates for requirements confirmation to the Product Owner and Business Analyst.
- Leveraged cloud architecture, infrastructure, and services experience to troubleshoot issues in the CI/CD pipeline and provide scalable and highly available solutions to meet business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 year's experience as an automated test engineer with programming skills in common languages, such as Java and Ruby.
- Experience designing, creating and executing automated tests via scripts using the Playwright tool.
- Experience in prioritizing test cases for critical features, create test scenarios & execution plans, and document automated test processes.
- Experience with the software development life cycle and automated testing.
- Experience with API testing.
- Clear understanding of QA Best Practices.
- US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
- Must reside in the Continental US.
- Depending on the government agency, specific requirements may include a public trust background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting state federal government IT programs specifically within CMS or health industry.
- Past development experience, specifically web application development.
- Previous public sector consulting experience and understanding customer needs.
- 508 compliance experience.
- Experience conducting automation tools analysis, selection, and recommendation.
- Experience developing automation frameworks that are leveraged across multiple projects / resources.
