iSpot competes for the best talent. Our compensation packages consist of salary and equity in one of Seattle’s hottest start-ups, as well as other standard benefits. Most importantly, we provide a really interesting working experience, and the chance to contribute to the success of something great.

What You’ll Be Part Of:

iSpot.tv is changing how brands, agencies, and networks measure and assess the impact of TV advertising. iSpot connects TV advertising to actual business outcomes, empowering hundreds of the world’s top brands to plan, measure and optimize their TV and streaming ad campaigns and understand the influence they have on driving business growth.  iSpot is growing fast and seeking top talent to fuel our growth.

We deal with data. BIG data. We operate mainly in AWS, with multiple Kubernetes clusters and thousands of servers. We’re looking for someone with skills and passion necessary to create a big impact. We have a wide array of projects you can tackle, with plenty of opportunities to grow as an individual and as a senior DevOps engineer.

Responsibilities:

Our Developer Experience (DevEx) team has a need for an experienced DevOps/SRE engineer who can help us attain the goals outlined in our charter:

To empower engineering teams by creating or implementing intuitive tools, optimizing workflows, and fostering a seamless development experience. We aim to enhance productivity, collaboration, and innovation by delivering robust solutions that remove friction, streamline processes, and support the continuous evolution of engineering excellence.

Our team consists of senior engineers who work together with minimal supervision to attain those goals.  We tend to be more focused on “Dev” than “Ops” than many DevOps/SRE teams, but as we are supporting teams that run their systems on AWS and Kubernetes, some significant experience on the operations side is required.

We “eat our own dog food”, i.e. whenever possible, we use the same tech stack and processes that we recommend and/or support.  We also believe that “buy” is better than “build” in most cases, and that the simplest solutions are usually best.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Excellent communication skills.  This team spends much of its time collaborating with other teams inside and outside of the Engineering organization.
  • Experience with researching and implementing  new/modern developer toolsets and assisting those teams in adopting them
  • Strong working knowledge of AWS, including ECR, RDS, Route53, SQS/SNS, VPC and the AWS CLI.
  • 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes and containerization in general including associated tools (kubectl, Helm, ArgoCD)
  • 2+ years working with AWS EKS deployments, runtime and monitoring
  • Strong knowledge of AWS costs and how to reduce them
  • Basic TCP/IP networking including routing, AWS security groups, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of CI/CD concepts and experience with developing associated pipelines
  • Working knowledge of automated software testing concepts
  • Working knowledge of IaC concepts with experience implementing them
  • Proficient in high level scripting languages, including shell scripting, Python and/or JavaScript
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk or DataDog
  • 7+ years of relevant experience
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in AdTech
  • Experience with one or more of CircleCI, Snyk, Codecov, Airflow/MWAA
  • Proficiency with Terraform/Terragrunt
