We 're Hiring a Senior Sales Representative in the West!

Job Summary:

The Territory Manager (Wastewater) is responsible for leading the technical sales team to achieve long-term growth and expand into new markets, with a particular focus on the wastewater treatment and biological treatment sectors. This role involves developing and implementing sales strategies, managing key client relationships, and ensuring the successful execution of initiatives that drive adoption of advanced treatment solutions. The Manager also oversees the recruitment, training, and performance of the sales team, while providing strategic guidance to meet and exceed sales targets. Success in this position requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of both industrial sales processes and environmental treatment technologies. This role covers the West US territory.

Responsibilities:
Sales Management
• Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company's sales targets
• Monitor and analyze market trends and competitors' activities
• Manage and mentor sales team, including setting sales goals and providing training
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth sales process and customer satisfaction
• Review and improve sales processes and policies to increase efficiency and effectiveness
Technical Expertise
• Understand and stay updated on company's products and services
• Provide technical support and advice to sales team and customers
• Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to potential clients
• Participate in trade shows, conferences, and other industry events to showcase company's products and services

• Conduct market research and identify potential new products or services to meet customer needs
Client Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing clients
• Conduct regular meetings with clients to understand their needs and provide solutions

• Address any customer concerns or issues in a timely and effective manner
Budget and Forecasting
• Prepare and manage sales budgets and forecasts
• Monitor and report on sales performance and provide recommendations for improvement
• Ensure sales team meets or exceeds sales targets and objectives
• Identify and implement cost-saving measures to optimize sales operations
Team Collaboration and Communication
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the sales team
• Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure alignment and cooperation
• Provide regular updates and reports to upper management on sales activities and results
• Collaborate with marketing team to develop effective sales strategies and materials
Professional Development
• Stay updated on industry trends, developments, and best practices
• Attend relevant training and conferences to enhance skills and knowledge
• Actively seek opportunities for personal and professional growth
• Mentor and coach sales team members to help them reach their full potential.
Team Management:
• Lead and manage a team, providing guidance, feedback, and support.
• Set goals and KPIs for team members and monitor performance.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Develop and implement training programs to keep team members updated on trends and strategies.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s in Science or related field, with at least 5 years experience, with at least 2 years experience as a people manager or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.

• 2+ years’ sales or sales related experience
• Thorough knowledge of consultative/value-based selling.

• Knowledge of, hydraulic, water flow, water infrastructure preferred
• Strong technical skills with proficiency in sales tools and software (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365, CRM systems).
• Experience in developing and implementing sales strategies and plans.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and persuasively.
• A strategic thinker with a test-and-learn approach to marketing efforts and process improvements.
• Resource Allocation: Allocate personnel, tools, and other resources efficiently to achieve project goals. Balance competing priorities and adapt as needed.
• End-to-End Project Management: Lead improvement projects from initiation to completion. Monitor progress, address challenges, and ensure timely delivery of measurable results.

•Travel percentage up to 50% (overnight travel).

Salary: The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
