POSITION OVERVIEW

The Program Manager is a strategic, cross-functional leader within the Project Management Office (PMO), responsible for driving large-scale, high-impact programs that support key business priorities. This individual will manage interconnected projects and initiatives, align cross-functional teams, and ensure delivery of outcomes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, communicates effectively across all levels of the organization, and brings a proactive, structured approach to program execution. The Program Manager will collaborate closely with internal teams, external partners and senior leaders to deliver coordinated efforts that align with organizational goals and adapt as priorities evolve.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Strategy & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end program planning and delivery, ensuring coordination across interrelated workstreams, timelines, and stakeholder groups.
  • Translate complex goals into measurable outcomes and phased plans, balancing long-term objectives with immediate needs.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues or roadblocks, implementing process improvements and fostering a culture of accountability and adaptability.
  • Create scalable and repeatable frameworks to improve consistency and efficiency of execution across initiatives.

Stakeholder Alignment & Influence

  • Build strong relationships across departments and functions, managing expectations and facilitating alignment at all levels.
  • Drive clear, confident communication with executive presence, delivering updates, influencing decisions and securing buy-in across functions.
  • Lead challenging conversations and program realignments with professionalism and minimal oversight when shifts in scope or priority occur.
  • Synthesize insights and data into actionable recommendations that connect back to strategic goals.

Operational & People Leadership

  • Manage distributed teams across various disciplines and roles, clearly setting expectations and driving performance through influence rather than direct authority.
  • Balance competing priorities while ensuring consistent progress, quality, and collaboration across all program workstreams.
  • Offer timely and constructive feedback, coach peers and project leads, and model behaviors that contribute to a high-performing and inclusive culture.

Strategic Thinking & Continuous Improvement

  • Apply systems thinking to understand the broader implications of programs and interdependencies across teams and processes.
  • Embrace agile principles and promote continuous learning, iterating on process and approach to optimize delivery and impact.
  • Support change initiatives by clearly articulating rationale, guiding adoption and ensuring positive outcomes despite ambiguity or resistance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Communications, Organizational Leadership)
  • 6+ years of experience in program or project management within a matrixed organization
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives independently
  • Strong proficiency in project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders with varying levels of expertise

Preferred

  • Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project/program management methodologies
  • PMP, Agile or comparable professional certification a plus
