By supporting informatics surge operations and production management activities, this position helps prevent disruptions in medication ordering, clinical documentation, diagnostic results reporting, and Clinical Decision Support (CDS) performance. These efforts directly contribute to patient safety, continuity of care, quality improvement, and timely clinical operations across the VHA enterprise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee execution of training operations, production support activities, and value stream initiatives to ensure timely and effective service delivery.

  • Forecast customer demand, workload requirements, and resource utilization to ensure operational readiness and effective service delivery.
  • Collaborate with program leadership, clinical stakeholders, technical teams, and business managers to coordinate operational activities and resolve issues affecting production performance.
  • Analyze operational metrics and key performance indicators to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process optimization.
  • Lead operational response activities during surge support, production issues, system releases, and implementation events.
  • Ensure production activities align with organizational policies, quality standards, service level agreements, and federal healthcare requirements.
  • Coordinate operational improvements that enhance workflow efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall organizational performance.
  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to clinical and business operations.
  • Prepare operational reports, status updates, performance analyses, and recommendations for program leadership.
  • Support governance activities by developing and maintaining operational procedures, documentation, and best practices.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Operations Management, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in production operations, operations management, healthcare administration, healthcare information technology, or related operational environments.

  • Experience managing production operations, operational planning, workflow optimization, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations, customer service delivery, performance management, and operational governance.
