Dave vs. Goliath. We’re Dave.

Dave is a financial app on a mission to build products that level the financial playing field. It is redefining the financial landscape by leveraging technology to create an affordable, transparent, and user-centric access to liquidity for millions of Americans. As a leading innovator in the U.S. financial services sector, Dave’s digital financial platform offers products designed to meet the credit needs of those underserved by traditional financial institutions. Dave’s offerings include its flagship ExtraCash product, providing members up to $500 in short-term advances within minutes. The company is on track to launch several new product offerings in 2026, including a Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) option.

Dave is focused on serving Americans who are financially vulnerable or living paycheck to paycheck. Dave is leading the charge in creating a new era of credit products that prioritizes speed, affordability, and accessibility, making it the go-to financial partner for those who need it most.

We're hiring a Sr. Product Designer, Growth to help design new acquisition and growth products and feature iterations. You will turn ambiguous problems and emerging opportunities into clear, shippable experiences. In this role, you’ll partner with Product, Engineering, Research, and teams across Marketing, Brand, Legal, and Compliance to define direction and launch experiences that scale to millions of members.

This is a mobile-first, consumer product design role focused on helping people discover, trust, and adopt Dave’s products.

What you’ll build and own
  • Full-Lifecycle Product Design: Shape new growth levers and foundational features that drive acquisition and engagement. Drive the process from ambiguous early exploration and rapid concepting through to high-impact launches and continuous, data-driven iteration.

  • Strategic Discovery & AI Prototyping: Frame the right problems through research and data. Use rapid prototyping (including AI-assisted workflows) to test ideas and inform product direction.

  • Designing within Constraints: Translate user needs, business goals, and regulatory requirements into simple, high-quality mobile experiences that can support fast experimentation.

  • Narrative & Alignment: Communicate design decisions clearly with partners. Champion design decisions that balance short-term conversion wins with long-term brand equity and user trust.

  • Systems Thinking: Ensure growth work connects cleanly into the broader product experience. Contribute to shared patterns and design systems as experiments mature.

  • Mentorship & Craft: Support peers through feedback and early-stage thinking. Help raise the quality and consistency of design across the team.

The impact

Your work will shape how new members first experience Dave and which products earn long-term trust. You’ll influence what gets built, how it shows up in the product, and how it contributes to sustainable growth.

What we’re looking for

Experience and skills

  • 5+ years of product design experience in fintech or other scaled consumer products

  • Strong experience taking products or major features from idea to launch

  • Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end thinking, strong craft, and iteration over time

  • Deep expertise in mobile-first design

  • Strong visual design paired with practical UX judgment

  • Fluency in Figma and modern, AI-augmented design workflows

  • Clear, thoughtful communication with cross-functional partners

Bonus

  • Experience designing financial products with ongoing member relationships (credit, banking, subscriptions, or similar)

  • Exposure to products serving gig workers or people with non-traditional income

Please note: a portfolio site or link that our Design Team can review is required for your application to be considered

What makes someone successful here

You take ownership of outcomes, not just deliverables. You’re comfortable starting from a blank page and turning ambiguity into direction. You connect your design decisions to member impact, business goals, and long-term product quality - not just aesthetics.

You work closely with cross-functional partners and bring them into the process early. You ask thoughtful questions, adapt as new information emerges, and help teams make clear, grounded trade-offs. You give and receive feedback openly, improving both the work and how the team operates over time.

What to expect

You’ll have meaningful ownership and the ability to shape products early. We move quickly, learn fast, and iterate based on what we see in the real world. If you’re excited by 0 → 1 work, autonomy, and building products that materially improve people’s financial lives, this role is for you.

Why join Dave
  • Build new products from the ground up for millions of members

  • Help expand access to financial tools in a growing, profitable fintech

  • Work with strong cross-functional partners who value design

  • Grow as a senior IC with room to expand scope over time

  • Competitive compensation, meaningful equity, comprehensive benefits, and flexible PTO

Ready to build for the underdog?
