What success looks like in this role:

• Provides procurement services for broad areas of the organization or business unit.
• Assists the Procurement Manager in vendor identification and sourcing.
• Requests quotes and negotiates with vendors to improve pricing and delivery options.
• Strives to achieve the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability and the vendor’s ability to meet required schedules.
• Prepares reports on vendor performance, contract status, modifications, renewals, etc.
• Identifies and resolves contract, delivery and other issues with third party vendors, referring significant or complex issues to higher levels.
• Ensures accurate and timely entry of all contracting documentation.
• May prepare bid packages.

Responsible for strategic supplier selection and contract negotiations related to various business units such as Marketing, Finance, Transportation, Employee Benefits, Real Estate and all other Corporate, Professional and Workplace Services areas. This includes support of business unit strategy and successful goal achievement.

Provides Procurement support activities during the Statement of Work (SOW) creation phase, Request for Proposal (RFP) creation phase and finally, supplier selection. Ability to interface and lead the Bonfire e-RFP team regarding supplier RFP requirements and timelines. Must have knowledge of risk management, corporate contracts and privacy / security policies. Should be able to utilize preferred suppliers and only seek alternative sources due to lack of technical fit or client specification. Ability to provide comprehensive support and has technical knowledge and motivation to solve complex problems. Understands Unisys business strategy and is able to operate successfully with little supervision.

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Responsible for strategic supplier selection and contract negotiations on requirements related to corporate, professional and workplace services.
  • Provides Procurement support activities during and after the supplier solution and selection phase.
  • Deliver Price and Spend management savings per category savings targets.
  • Coordinate with global and regional Procurement counterparts on implementing and driving category strategies.
  • Business Unit outreach to establish Procurement as a trusted partner.
  • Competitively bid all spend within the Indirect Category that qualifies to be bid or re-bid.
  • Achieve a competitive cost advantage through leveraged sourcing.
  • Drive operational excellence.
  • Encourage business units to consider innovative alternatives that contribute to business strategies.
  • Champion the value of the Procurement Organization.
  • Procurement Support during the initial supplier requirement phase, including identification of third party content required, the preparation of purchase detail to populate the RPF document, competitive bidding, teaming agreements, NDA’s and risk management activities.
  • Activities required during the supplier delivery phase, including final negotiation of supplier contracts or statements of work, and expediting supplier deliverables.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; preferably in a business discipline.
  • 2 to 5 years of work experience in a professional domestic or international environment.
  • Procurement knowledge required.
  • Oracle or similar ERP experience creating/auditing purchasing transactions.
  • Multiple language capability considered a plus but not necessary.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with internal clients.
  • Ability to build relationships with associates and BU leaders.
  • Capability of leading conversations in a team-inclusive environment.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

BA/BS degree and 4-6 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
