Leidos Corporate team is seeking a Sr. Payroll Systems and Solutions Analyst, who will serve as a senior technical and functional expert responsible for the design, optimization, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise payroll systems across U.S. (primarily UKGPro) and international operations as needed. This role blends deep payroll operations knowledge, advanced systems expertise, compliance leadership, and data-driven analysis.
The position is responsible for payroll system configuration, integration strategy, data governance, and process optimization initiatives. Acting as a trusted advisor to Payroll, HR, Benefits, Finance, IT, and executive leadership, this role ensures payroll platforms remain accurate, compliant, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Payroll Systems Strategy & Optimization
- Responsible for the configuration, optimization, and governance of payroll platform (UKGPro) and direct integrations with Workday, Costpoint/Deltek Time & Expense, and other related systems.
- Evaluate regulatory changes and vendor releases and implement required system enhancements.
- Design scalable, compliant payroll solutions aligned to evolving business and workforce needs.
- Maintain system documentation, configuration standards, process maps, job aids, and training materials.
Data Governance, Reporting & Advanced Analytics
- Lead complex payroll data analysis, reconciliations, audits, and risk assessments.
- Ensure foundation data integrity including tax codes, benefits, earnings, deductions, and cross-system alignment.
- Develop executive dashboards, ad-hoc analyses, and business intelligence reporting.
- Partner with People Analytics and functional partners to ensure high-quality downstream reporting and decision support.
Compliance, Quality & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with U.S. payroll laws, multi-jurisdictional regulations, and government contracting requirements (SCA, DCAA, etc.).
- Lead payroll system testing, regression validation, UAT support, and post-release verification.
- Perform root-cause analysis for payroll issues and implement durable corrective solutions.
- Establish strong internal controls, audit readiness, and continuous improvement frameworks.
Vendor, Stakeholder & Operational Leadership
- Serve as senior subject matter expert and escalation point for payroll systems and integrations.
- Provide policy, procedural, and technical guidance to vendors and internal teams.
- Cultivate strong partnerships with Payroll, HR, Benefits, Finance, IT, and international payroll providers.
- Mentor and support Payroll, HRIS, and Benefits team members.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of US payroll operations and payroll systems experience. Additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Deep expertise in payroll compliance, system configuration, and vendor management.
- Strong analytical background with advanced reporting and reconciliation capabilities.
- Experience with UKGPro payroll platform configuration as a Systems Analyst or System Administrator
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strategic and systems-oriented thinker.
- Strong problem-solving and solution design capability.
- Exceptional communication skills across technical and executive audiences.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and compliance.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive continuous improvement.
- US citizenship is required and able to obtain security clearance as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, HR, Business, or Information Systems.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
- Experience with Deltek T&E and Costpoint.
- International payroll exposure.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps).
- Experience in government contracting environments.
