The Senior Payroll Analyst is responsible for managing and administering the payroll process, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as corporate policies. The position manages and maintains the ADP payroll system, including its interaction with other applications, primarily Workday and SAP. The position is also responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions, preparing payroll reports, and assisting with the budget and forecasting process.
- Independently manages and administers the multi-site and multi-state payroll process in accordance with internal controls using ADP to ensure the accurate and timely maintenance and processing of bi-weekly salaries and wages.
- Reviews and processes deductions for levy, garnishment, and child support orders, as well as various benefit deductions including 401(k) contributions and benefit premiums.
- Prepares various payroll reports for management and end users using ADP Workforce Now custom reporting and Excel.
- Manages and verifies year end processing of W-2’s and all related filings prepared by ADP and ensures timely filing of forms and payments. Prepares various multi-jurisdictional reports and completes and files the company’s annual 945.
- Assists with continuous improvement projects within the payroll function.
- Provides detailed information to cost center managers to assist in the annual and quarterly planning process. This includes planning and forecasting the proper headcount and promotion salaries, bonuses and fringe benefits, in addition to analyzing the forecasting information and resolving discrepancies.
- Assists with the preparation of audit schedules for the year-end financial statement audit, the 5500 / Benefit Plan audit, Workers’ Compensation audit, and any other payroll-related audits.
- Partners with the Senior Staff Accountant to ensure general ledger mapping is appropriate, balances payroll (i.e. manual/voided checks etc.) with the general ledger along with providing assistance with audits, including internal and external, and providing information to complete external reporting requirements.
- Coordinates support for the year-end R&D tax credit.
- Controls the payroll-related record retention requirements.
Requirements
A High school diploma required, with 5 years of payroll experience OR an Associate's degree in Accounting (preferred) with 3 years of payroll experience. Experience with ADP required. Experience with Workday is a plus. CPP or other applicable certification preferred.
Compensation Range:
