POSITION SUMMARY
We are a dynamic, mid-sized technology company delivering cloud-based and hybrid SaaS products to a global clientele. As we continue to scale our operations and refine our remote-first strategy, we’re seeking a Senior Identity and Network Engineer to lead critical initiatives that ensure the performance, scalability, and security of our infrastructure.
In this role, you’ll operate at the intersection of network architecture, identity systems, and cloud services, bringing a technologist's mindset, leadership presence, and a knack for elegant, scalable solutions. You’ll mentor others, guide project delivery, and contribute to a culture of operational excellence.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Key Responsibilities
-
Design, implement, and operate secure, highly available networks across cloud, data center, and office environments.
-
Architect and maintain zero-trust network models and cloud-native security frameworks to support a globally distributed workforce.
-
Lead the design and integration of identity platforms, including Okta, Azure Entra ID, and hosted Active Directory, streamlining access, compliance, and user experience.
-
Manage identity lifecycle solutions and implement directory synchronization, SSO, and MFA across platforms like Google Workspace, SaaS applications, and internal services.
-
Exercise leadership in incident triage, conduct thorough root cause analysis, and facilitate recovery efforts pertaining to network and identity systems, participating in scheduled on-call rotations with the team.
-
Design and implement automation and integration scripts, leveraging tools like Python, PowerShell, or Terraform to unify and orchestrate systems.
-
Build observability and analytics into solutions—using telemetry and logging to monitor effectiveness, identify anomalies, and drive continuous improvement.
-
Propose and deliver solutions that incorporate AI/ML, enhancing automation, detection, and predictive analytics.
-
Develop and lead technical project plans, both formally and informally, across cross-functional teams.
-
Act as a mentor and technical lead, providing guidance, training, and support to junior engineers.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Required Skills & Experience
-
10+ years of progressive experience in network and/or identity engineering roles, ideally in SaaS or cloud-based environments.
-
Proven success in network architecture (cloud-native and on-prem), SD-WAN, VPN, DNS, and firewall design.
-
Deep expertise in identity protocols and platforms (SAML, OAuth, SCIM, LDAP, etc.), especially in large-scale integrations and compliance-driven environments.
-
Hands-on experience with cloud identity providers (Okta, Azure AD/Entra, Ping Identity, etc.).
-
Demonstrated success implementing Zero Trust frameworks and operationalizing them at scale.
-
Strong background with directory services design and identity federation across multiple domains and trust boundaries.
-
Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Apps Script, APIs).
-
Clear examples of leveraging AI or machine learning to drive innovation and effectiveness in network or identity domains.
-
Experience with monitoring, observability, and analytics platforms (Splunk, Prometheus, ELK, etc.).
-
Strong documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
-
US residency required. Preference for candidates based in or near Irvine, CA.
Preferred Qualities
-
A “can-do” attitude and ability to work across silos and ambiguity to drive outcomes.
-
Natural team leader and mentor, fostering both collaboration and knowledge sharing.
-
Ability to break down complex technical problems into practical, scalable solutions.
-
Strong project leadership experience, with the ability to manage and communicate across technical and business stakeholders.
