This is a hybrid role based in DAT’s Denver office at 1615 Platte Street.

  • Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Workplace Experience leads the strategy, operations, and teammate experience across DAT’s full site portfolio — Seattle, Denver, Portland, Toronto, Bangalore, and Springfield, MO. This role owns the physical environment as a strategic lever for engagement, collaboration, and high-performance culture, going well beyond traditional facilities management to architect experiences that make teammates want to show up, connect, and do their best work.

Reporting to the Director of Talent Operations, you’ll lead a team of Workplace Experience specialists, serve as the operational general manager of each DAT site, and partner cross-functionally with IT, Finance, and business leadership to ensure our spaces reflect who we are and where we’re going. You’ll balance the strategic (workplace programming, engagement-driven design, site strategy) with the operational (vendor management, building systems, safety, and compliance) — and you’ll thrive doing both.

    What You’ll Own

    Site Leadership

    • Set the strategy and standards for workplace experience across all DAT locations (Seattle, Denver, Portland, Toronto, Bangalore, Springfield), working through on-site teams to bring that vision to life locally.
    • Own the day-to-day teammate experience at each site: space readiness, building access, vendor performance, safety protocols, and environmental quality.
    • Act as the primary escalation point for all workplace and facilities issues across the portfolio, triaging and resolving with urgency.
    • Lead site-level communication and coordination during office openings, relocations, buildouts, and lease transitions.
    • Manage relationships with landlords, property managers, and building operations teams across all geographies.

    Teammate Experience & Engagement

    • Design and execute workplace programming that enables DAT’s high-performance culture such as lunch programs, team events, wellness initiatives, and in-office experiences that drive community building and connection with a focus on inclusion.
    • Own the physical component of the teammate lifecycle: the onboarding environment and first-day welcome, orientation, day-to-day workspace quality, and the tangible experience of being a DAT employee in every location.
    • Conduct regular workplace satisfaction surveys and translate feedback into measurable improvements. Track engagement metrics tied to workplace experience including badge scan data, attendance patterns, and teammate sentiment.
    • Partner with People Business Partners and leadership to ensure physical spaces support team structures, collaboration patterns, and hybrid work policies.
    • Champion inclusive design: ensure all sites are accessible, welcoming, and reflective of DAT’s diverse, globally distributed workforce.

    Workplace Strategy & Space Optimization

    • Develop and maintain a multi-year workplace strategy aligned with DAT’s growth plans, headcount projections, and hybrid work model.
    • Use space utilization data and occupancy analytics to inform layout decisions, desk allocation, and capital investment recommendations.
    • Lead workplace design projects — from concept through buildout — ensuring spaces support focused work, collaboration, and social connection.
    • Create and enforce workplace standards and playbooks that scale across locations while preserving local flexibility.
    • Own the workplace section of DAT’s People Hub (Confluence/intranet), keeping content current and useful.

    Workplace Operations & Vendor Management

    • Ensure 99%+ uptime for critical building systems and services across all sites.
    • Manage vendor relationships for cleaning, maintenance, security, catering, parking, transit programs, and other workplace services. Negotiate contracts and hold vendors accountable to SLAs.
    • Own workplace budgets with spending authority, controlling costs while maintaining high standards. Prepare and present budget forecasts to senior leadership.
    • Implement preventive maintenance programs and ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and corporate standards.
    • Coordinate with IT on workplace technology: AV systems, room booking, digital signage, access control, and smart building integrations.

    People Leadership

    • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Workplace Experience specialists across multiple locations.
    • Set clear goals and performance expectations tied to engagement outcomes and operational excellence.
    • Build a team culture rooted in responsiveness, pride of ownership, and service orientation.
    • Create career development paths within the Workplace Experience function.

    What You Bring

    Required

    • 7+ years of progressive experience in workplace experience, employee engagement, or related fields, preferably in tech or high-growth environments. Facilities or corporate real estate background is a plus but not the lead.
    • 3+ years of people management, including managing distributed or multi-site teams.
    • Demonstrated experience overseeing a multi-location portfolio (3+ sites) with a mix of leased, owned, and co-working spaces.
    • Track record of building workplace programming that drives community, belonging, and measurable engagement, not just operational efficiency.
    • Experience leading office relocations, buildouts, or workspace transformations with an eye toward how the space shapes culture and connection.
    • Strong vendor management and budget oversight skills, with experience managing six-figure facilities budgets.
    • Excellent cross-functional partnership skills, comfortable working with IT, Finance, Legal, and executive leadership.
    • Strong communicator who can translate workplace strategy into compelling presentations, clear documentation, and day-to-day team guidance

    Preferred

    • Facilities management certification (FMP, CFM, SFP) or workplace strategy credentials.
    • Experience with space utilization tools and occupancy analytics platforms.
    • Background in hospitality or customer experience that translates to workplace design thinking.
    • Familiarity with LEED/green building standards and sustainable workplace practices.
    • Experience supporting international office locations.
    • Proficiency with workplace management platforms (e.g., Envoy, Robin, OfficeSpace) and project management tools.
