Role: Sr. Manager, Strategic Sourcing - Facilities

Profile

The Sr. Manager Strategic Sourcing ensures that products, services and supplier relationships are in the best interest of Davita. This position will lead the Indirect Sourcing Lane for Facilities. The Sr. Manager is responsible

for the evaluation of suppliers and contracts including the Category Strategies, Requests for Quotes (RFQ), Request for Proposals (RFP) and Requests for Information (RFI). This position works under minimal supervision

on complex assignments that require considerable independent discretion and judgement. This management role requires extensive business partnering, research, data mining skills, commercial negotiation skills, and evaluation of goods and/or services. The Sr. Manager will make recommendations, including supplier selections, based on business criteria and competitive intelligence and is expected to lead negotiations. This position reports to the Director, Strategic Sourcing.

  • Collaborate with internal business partners including Facilities, Operations, Finance and Legal to understand business needs, and lead procurement activities to create P&L value and mitigate risk.
  • Influence senior leadership on procurement strategies and initiatives.
  • Set clear goals, monitor performance and ensure alignment with Procurement and Enterprise goals.
  • Drive the expansion of the Facilities portfolio and consolidate fragmented vendor landscape
  • Will ensure that the Legal department reviews all contracts and fully executed agreements are deposited into the Contract Management System.
  • Develop and implement category strategies.
  • Facilitates delivery of all relevant contract documentation including pricing and other key terms to the procurement systems team to enable purchasing.
  • Lead complex sourcing/initiatives with a high level of discretion and independence, demonstrating ownership of the projects.
  • Guides analyst support in data gathering, stakeholders discussions, contract support and sourcingmstrategies.
  • Partners with VMO in evaluating supplier performance as applicable.
  • Research relevant market, suppliers and technologies and makes recommendations to internal customers based on analysis.
  • Has proficiency in using various sourcing platforms previously i.e. Coupa, Ariba, GEP (preferred, not required)

  • Deliver Service excellence across all levels of the organization. Will also work with suppliers to negotiate without damaging relationships but rather work in a spirit of partnership by utilizing the skills ofpersuasion and influence.
  • Must have strong communications skills, both oral and written, and excellent active listening skills.
  • Financial acumen to interpret financial results, statements and forecasts and understand risks arising from contract terms.
  • Must work well across functions and contribute beyond individual responsibilities to achieve team goals.
  • Encourage collaboration and help build consensus to improve analysis and decision-making.
  • Must manage the selection and evaluation of preferred suppliers including documenting the selection process, evaluating and comparing supplier quotes, bids and information, and making a recommendation based on the findings. Will present these findings in presentations and provide supporting documentation.
  • Written communication is important since they will need to be able to create professional documents for suppliers and internal customers.
  • They will need to be thorough and detail-oriented when evaluating bids for pricing and specifications.
  • Should demonstrate the desire to continually learn and evolve.
  • Must be adaptable and flexible to market changes, bringing an innovation mindset to the items they are responsible for by leveraging relationships with internal customers and suppliers.
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities in spend strategies, product demands and sourcing / purchasing timelines

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive procurement experience preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing small team
  • Strong strategic sourcing, contract management experience. Experience in Facilities or related Indirect procurement categories.
  • Ability to manage multiple RFPs / RFIs at any given time.
  • Excellent Skills in MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, Coupa and other eSourcing platforms - preferred.
  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint.

Salary/ Wage Range

$100,100.00 - $147,000.00 / year

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
