What You Will Do
- Leads a high-performing engineering team to achieve the company's mission by managing performance, fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture, and promoting engineering excellence, operational maturity, and continuous improvement.
- Serves as a full-stack, hands-on technical leader overseeing the design, development, and sustainment of scalable, high-availability digital experience platforms and enterprise applications; ensures alignment with business requirements and functional specifications.
- Establishes and enforces best-in-class engineering and DevOps practices through strong architectural decisions, code quality standards, and regular design/code reviews; leverages observability tools to enhance reliability, speed-to-market, and performance optimization.
- Partners with product management and cross-functional teams to define technology roadmaps, plan capacity, manage resources and budgets, and deliver high-quality solutions using microservices, event-driven architectures, APIs, and scalable data pipelines.
- Builds trust with stakeholders through transparent communication, resolves escalated technical challenges, drives experimentation with AI and automation technologies, and ensures adherence to methodologies, standards, and controls across all development phases.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems (CIS), or related field or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
- 8 years of IT experience
- 8 years of experience in software engineering or related field
- 8 years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of software development life cycles (SDLC)
- 3 years of experience leading project or technical teams with or without formal direct report responsibility; this includes experience providing technical direction, thought leadership, and coaching and mentoring team members
Preferred Skills/Education
- 5 years of experience in software development in an Agile environment, including work with third-party vendors and solution providers
- 5 years of experience leveraging cloud-native and full-stack technologies (Java, Node.js, React, or similar frameworks)
- 3 years of experience building or managing content management, publishing, or digital experience platforms
- 3 years of experience in IT management within the retail or e-commerce industry
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD, containerization, and observability tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Grafana, etc.)
- Strong interest or experience in applying AI and machine learning to content and customer experience domains
- 3 years of experience in roles requiring regular interaction with senior leadership
- Master's degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field
