Position Description

The Senior Manager of Software Development & Engineering for our Enterprise Logistics business unit will be responsible for leading a team of software engineers in developing and maintaining critical supply chain management systems. These systems are used by our customers to manage their warehouses, transportation operations, and other logistics activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and experience managing teams of software professionals. They should also have a deep understanding of supply chain management processes and be able to leverage this knowledge to drive innovation within our organization.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of software engineers in designing, developing, and testing new features for our supply chain management systems.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions using agile methodologies.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the development team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.

• Stay up to date on industry trends and advancements in software engineering, incorporating best practices into our development processes.

• Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget constraints.

Minimum Requirements:

Typically requires 9+ years of professional experience and 1+ years of supervisory and/or management experience.

Critical Skills:

  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in software development, including at least 5 years of experience managing software engineering teams.

  • Extensive experience with development, implementation and customization of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)

  • Proven track record of delivering impactful supply chain management solutions.

  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile) and experience with multiple programming languages and frameworks.

  • Solid grasp of data modeling concepts and SQL.

Additional Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

  • AS/400 RPG experience preferred.

Education

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$133,900 - $223,100
