Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Paid Media will support the strategy, execution, and optimization of paid media programs across all digital channels for Sun Auto Network's dealership and service locations. This role is responsible for driving qualified traffic, leads, and service/sales appointments through disciplined budget management, campaign innovation, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with hands-on platform expertise and the leadership ability to manage a team and agency partners in a fast-paced, multi-location retail environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

  • Support paid media strategy across Search and Paid Social to support network-wide and location-level business goals.
  • Build quarterly and annual media plans aligned to sales, service, and lead-generation targets across all Sun Auto Network locations.
  • Partner with Marketing leadership to translate business objectives into channel-specific KPIs and budget allocations.

Campaign Execution & Optimization

  • Oversee day-to-day management of paid campaigns across Google Ads, Meta, Microsoft Ads, and other relevant platforms through agency partners.
  • Drive continuous testing (creative, audience, bidding strategy, landing pages) to improve CPL, CPA, ROAS, and other core performance metrics.
  • Manage multi-location and dealer-specific budget pacing, ensuring efficient spend allocation across the network.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Support paid media reporting infrastructure; deliver regular performance dashboards and insights to leadership and location stakeholders.
  • Analyze full-funnel performance data (impressions to appointments/sales) to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Partner with analytics/BI teams to ensure accurate tracking, attribution, and conversion measurement (e.g., call tracking, CRM integration, GA4).

Team & Vendor Leadership

  • Manage and mentor paid media specialists/coordinators, fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for paid media agencies and vendors, holding them accountable to performance benchmarks and SLAs.
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with ad tech platforms, tools, and media partners.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Creative, SEO, CRM, and Store/Regional Marketing teams to ensure cohesive, on-brand campaigns.
  • Work closely with local/regional marketing efforts to align local promotions with paid media execution.
  • Stay current on automotive retail marketing trends, platform updates, and competitive landscape to keep strategies ahead of the curve.

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Advertising, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 6+ years of experience in paid media/digital advertising, with at least 2+ years in a management or lead role.
  • Proven hands-on expertise managing large-scale budgets across Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, and Microsoft Ads.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in GA4, call tracking platforms, and CRM/lead management tools.
  • Experience managing multi-location or franchise-style budgets and reporting.
  • Demonstrated success improving CPL, CPA, and ROAS metrics at scale.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present performance results to senior leadership.

Preferred

  • Experience in automotive retail, dealership marketing, or OEM co-op advertising programs.
  • Experience managing or directing external media agencies.
  • Google Ads and Meta Blueprint certifications.
  • Experience with programmatic/DSP platforms and YouTube/video advertising.
