This role is ideal for a quality leader with deep experience in consumer product development, cross-functional collaboration, and regulated environments (e.g., FDA, ISO, cGMP).
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Quality Leadership in NPD

  • Ensure new product development processes comply with internal QMS requirements and applicable external regulations (e.g., FDA, ISO, GMP).

Risk Management & Quality Planning
  • Develop quality strategies for new product introductions including risk assessments (e.g., FMEA), validation plans, and control strategies.
  • Drive early identification and resolution of potential quality and regulatory risks.
  • Lead or oversee the creation of quality documentation such as Design History Files (DHF), validation protocols, and product specifications.

Design Transfer & Manufacturing Readiness
  • Ensure effective design transfer from R&D to manufacturing, including supplier qualification, pilot production oversight, and process validation.
  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality and Operations to establish quality requirements and incoming inspection protocols for new components or materials.

Cross-functional Influence & Collaboration
  • Act as a key voice of quality in cross-functional teams, influencing decisions that impact product safety, efficacy, and compliance.
  • Build strong working relationships with R&D, Regulatory, Marketing, Procurement, and Operations to support fast, high-quality innovation.

Continuous Improvement & Post-Market Feedback
  • Analyze quality metrics from new product launches to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Customer Service, Regulatory, and Post-Market teams to assess field performance and incorporate learnings into future product development cycles.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Chemistry, or related technical field required.
  • Advanced degree (MS, MBA, or equivalent) preferred.

Experience:
  • 8-12 years of progressive quality experience in consumer goods, personal care, food & beverage, medical devices, or other regulated industry.
  • 3-5 years in a leadership or senior-level role overseeing NPD or product quality initiatives.
  • Strong working knowledge of product development frameworks (e.g., stage-gate) and design controls.

Technical Skills & Competencies:
  • In-depth knowledge of quality systems, risk management tools (FMEA, HACCP, etc.), and root cause analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with global regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, cGMP, etc.).
