JOB SUMMARY
As a member of Marriott’s Global Finance Automation team, the Senior Manager – Global Finance Automation will report to the Director, Global Finance Automation. This role is responsible for managing a broad portfolio of initiatives that support the planning, governance, execution, and adoption of Marriott’s global finance automation strategy.
The Senior Manager will partner closely with Global Finance teams across the enterprise to drive delivery and adoption of automation solutions. This includes supporting software selection, enablement, and training efforts that underpin the global automation operating model and drive meaningful, enterprise-wide impact.
This role will also support the Global Finance automation user community by facilitating Citizen Developer (CitDev) meetings, enabling ideation and solution development, and providing the tools, resources, and governance necessary to scale automation effectively.
The position plays a key role in building the structures, capabilities, and coordination mechanisms required to manage the interconnected components of the automation program. The Senior Manager will partner with Global Finance leaders and subject matter advisors, stakeholders across the enterprise, and external consulting partners engaged in finance transformation and technology initiatives.
Success in this role requires strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to manage multiple, concurrent work efforts, often in response to complex and time-sensitive requests.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
Analytics, Reporting, and Platform Enablement

Manage the development of Power BI reports and dashboards, partnering with Global Finance teams to identify processes suitable for streamlining or automation. Build deep expertise in core reporting and analytics tools to support teams in delivering required insights.

Serve as one of three administrative leads for Microsoft Fabric (or other MI approved platform) within Global Finance, responsible for platform administration, user access, governance, and enablement. Partner across the enterprise to identify and prioritize high-value use cases and design a scalable, governed Fabric architecture that balances performance, security, and long-term growth.

Support the Director in introducing new reporting systems, applications and automation tools partnering closely with MI Finance Systems teams and 3rd parties.
Automation, Cloud, and Digital Transformation

Lead and manage special projects, including cloud migration initiatives and collaboration solutions leveraging M365 applications such as Power BI, SharePoint, Power Automate, and Copilot. Identify innovative uses of existing Microsoft licenses and platforms to drive efficiency, improve information sharing, and support the migration from Power BI Premium to Microsoft Fabric.

Identify and lead automation initiatives across the enterprise, engaging finance associates to drive adoption and value realization.

Engage and partner with Global Finance subject matter experts to manage and coordinate automation program deliverables.
Program and Stakeholder Management

Coordinate week-to-week program execution, including status reporting, timeline management, and escalation of risks, issues, and decisions. Maintain and enhance program management tools such as SharePoint, Teams, Power BI reporting, and intake processes.

Facilitate program workshops to address risks, resolve issues, and align stakeholders on priorities and strategy.

Meet regularly with stakeholders to assess program needs, value realization, ROI, and KPIs.

Provide input into program strategy and support evaluation and prioritization of new automation opportunities.

Lead initial analysis of opportunity areas, including business case development and objective definition.
Enablement, Training, and Community Building

Deliver training as part of solution deployment, partnering with department SMEs to develop, document, and transition automation solutions so teams are self-sufficient and able to enhance solutions as business needs evolve.

Support and expand the Copilot Champion program, driving engagement and adoption of Copilot across the finance organization.

Support and encourage Digital Citizens and Citizen Developers, fostering learning, ideation, and solution development.

Maintain platforms and content that enable Digital Citizens and Developers to participate in training, ideation, and solution development, ensuring materials remain current and relevant.

Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders regarding existing and in-flight automations impacting their teams, identifying opportunities for collaboration and reuse.
Culture, Talent, and Continuous Improvement

Empower Marriott associates to drive innovation through automation and analytics, organically scaling the automation program across the enterprise and freeing time for higher-value work.

Promote continuous upskilling, sharing ideas through weekly check-ins, solution showcases, the Asset Repository, and ongoing training opportunities.

Proactively develop, coach, and cross-train team members to support evolving business needs.

Actively pursue learning opportunities to enhance personal and team performance, leveraging resources such as Pragmatic Works, Microsoft, Aimpoint, and online learning platforms to stay current with emerging technologies.
Enterprise and ERP Engagement

Engage with Oracle AI initiatives, supporting adoption, learning, and serving as a subject matter advisor.

Support the Project Lightyear team, contributing to the design and implementation of Oracle Fusion Cloud finance environment as requested.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
KEY TALENTS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience & Skills
-
Minimum 6 years of accounting, finance, or systems experience, with a strong analytical orientation.

Preferred Experience with PeopleSoft ledgers and Hyperion products;
-
Strong experience with Microsoft Power BI Desktop, MS Office 365, MS Power Platform including Power BI, Power Automate and Power Apps, and MS Fabric
-
Experience with Alteryx or other no-code/low-code automation tools
-
Preferred knowledge of Marriott financial systems, including MIGL, SmartView, HFR, and EPM.

Oracle Fusion experience preferred

Experience interpreting and implementing internal and external policies.

Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, finance controls, and accounting and finance processes.

Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and their relationship to financial statements, with the ability to analyze and interpret results.

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION
