The senior information assurance specialist facilitates organizational accountability and integrity by leveraging deep understanding of ministry operations with technical expertise in information systems to assess the control framework around information systems. Participates in and develops audit plans and leads complex internal analysis of information systems, processes, and controls. Works independently with little direction from Information Assurance Management. Advises management on the appropriateness and adequacy of the overall control framework within the entity and makes recommendations to resolve complex process issues. At this career level, the incumbent occasionally leads or conducts major, complex audits and assessments across multiple countries. Will coordinate assurance and advisory engagements with other audit and risk teams. Creates and conducts risk assessments. May occasionally coach or oversee the work of other specialists.

Promotes the dignity, respect, positive treatment, potential of children in all circumstances. Encourages the involvement of others in helping children in need. Reports and appropriately supports responses to incidents of harm of children if they occur.
Plans, leads, and participates in technology audits and assessments and communicates and reports findings to operational management and executive leadership.
Assess risks that warrant attention, identifies specialized skills/resources to assess unique and complex technology solutions and processes, (e.g. new information system implementations, network control, etc.).
Applies information systems development, implementation and operational control concepts in a wide variety of technology settings and assess the exposures resulting from ineffective or missing control practices; evaluates information system results from a technical perspective.
Plans and performs audit tests and risk assessments, and provides assistance to less experienced team members to successfully complete planned assignments.
Evaluates overall results, weighing the relevancy, accuracy, and perspective of conclusions against the accumulated evidence for individual technology processes and solutions. Communicates to the recipient results; works with cross-functional teams on a variety of issues.
Completes projects within specified timeliness and calendar schedules; provides consulting services for information systems issues including development of Compassion information systems standards, policies and procedures.
May travel to Compassion project sites to participate in or lead the assessment of operational and information systems, administrative records, accountability procedures, staffing, planning, budgets, key result indicators, legal compliance and general management practices. Ensures that assessments and tests are conducted in a facilitative manner, emphasizing opportunities for training and development of ministry partner workers.
Occasionally coaches other specialists.
This role requires skills in authentication, network security, cloud services, operating systems, encryption, compliance standards, forensic and analytical mind that is required to probe and test unobvious mechanisms that lead to vulnerabilities with systems and networks, as well as an understanding of data analytics and audit management tools. The senior specialist must be able to take the knowledge and communicate with peers within the organization and internal department team management.
What do you bring?
Certification from a nationally or internationally recognized organization in a related field. e.g., ISACA CISA, IIA CIA, ISC2 CISSP.
Strong experience in internal IT auditing with a focus on process maturity and project execution.
Proven ability to lead and contribute to diverse initiatives such as organizational process improvement, data analysis, and audit/GRC implementations.
Strong understanding of IT systems and cloud infrastructure.
Agile software engineering experience is a plus.
Familiarity with CRM and financial accounting tools.
