Responsible for month-end close activities, reconciliations, journal entries, and process improvements. Must apply GAAP in various accounting tasks.
The Senior GL Accountant will be responsible for items such as daily, weekly and month-end duties, as well as business-related activities, including vendor payment application, cash and other balance sheet accounts analysis. This individual will be involved in developing and improving business processes. The Senior GL Accountant must understand accounting principles and procedures and apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to various categories of assets and liabilities.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Conduct month-end close activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Reconcile various bank accounts, journal entries, and account analysis.
- Prepare journal entries for investments, debt, intangible assets, cash accounts, prepaids and other current assets or liabilities and department allocations.
- Prepare SEC footnotes and schedules for investments and intangible assets.
- Complete monthly SOX controls and provide support to internal auditors as needed.
- Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external departments.
- Ensure that accounting needs are completed within required timelines.
- Review accounting processes and procedures, make recommendations, and implement improvements with management.

What You Need (Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Knowledge, skills and abilities typically associated with 5+ years of professional experience in Accounting.
- Experience working with NetSuite or other similar ERP.
- General understanding of SOX practice paired with demonstrated experience executing against.
- Experience at a publicly traded company.
- Knowledge of general accepted accounting principles (US GAAP).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office.
What Would Be Nice (Preferred Qualifications)
- CPA.
- Global experience.
- FloQast or other close management software experience.
- Experience contributing to SEC filings.
